The real Pace Cars at Indy

I was at the Indy Grand Prix this weekend when Reliable Carriers pulled in on Thursday with the three Z/28s that will pace the Indy 500 this year. Very cool to see them. They brought a lot of rain tires with them, said the stock tires don't work in the rain very well.
All the other Camaro's with Pace Car decals where SSs.

the others are not called or considered Pace Cars but "Parade Cars" or Celebrity Cars. Given to the drivers, etc to be driven around town till the race. The parade cars will then be sold to the public. Pretty cool to see them around here during the month. As a club here, we try and see how many are seen/photographed by our members.

It was a great weekend except for the start of the race. I will post some pics of the Pace Cars when I get back home.
I know the other Camaro's were just Parade or Celebrity cars but still cool to see them.

If any of them are convertibles, no way they could be a Z/28.....

Yes there are 51 2SS convertibles and one coupe "Festival" or "Parade" cars. The majority are loaned to the 33 Festival Committee members for the month. They say "Official Car" on the door not "Official Pace Car". There are also Suburbans, Tahoes, Equinoxes, Traverses, a couple of Volts decaled up and used at the track as well as the pick-ups and wreckers.
BTW anybody else sitting in turn 7 when the Corvette Grand Prix Pace Car blew up?
