Andy

It is plumbed out when the chiller is on, then in the witer when you don't have the A/C compressor running it flows through the normal heat exchager. It have a valve that is operated to bypass the normal heat exchanger when the chiller is in use so you are not having the hot water from the heat exchanger to deal with, as you can see from my road tests the heat exchanger only cools it down to just above ambient at best.

I don't think it was stated anywhere but I am sure Tracy hasn't told everything about the system as it wouldn't pay very well to do that.

Jeremy is correct. He is mechanically adept so has a good understanding on how the system works. We have been working on perfecting this for over 2 years now and pretty much have it down aside from the little tweaks every product gets as we strive to offer the best. This system is pretty dang unique and although there are a few others that use the same technology to cool (with success as well) were not aware of any as advanced as this and we are not releasing all info on it.

Jeremy will come in and summarize todays testing.....the IAT's fell almost as much as the intercooler coolant! That is beyond what we expected but attests to how efficiant the Maggie intercooler is. He logged runs from 0-130 and had IAT's down to just over 100degrees measured after the blower where they are 150-200 plus in the heat with just the heat exchanger and no chiller. It also kept it cool in around town driving and doing a simulated 1/4 mile run turning it off at launch it just got as warm as no chiller by the end of the run. This should do several pluses for the motor, power, fuel economy, etc. He spent the entire day testing & logging.

I'll let him post the exact results but the IAT's fell 39 plus degrees in just a few minutes of the chiller engaged.

Ok so I am tired of the car for today!!

I was fighting with SCT all morning trying to get the data logging to work and finally got it after 2.5 hours on the phone and remotely connected to them. Ok enough of the bitching.

I am not going to post the logs because I never turned it off since it was having issues reconnecting and most of the logs were 30 min. or more.

It was 97-101* today during the testing.

Chiller off I first ran the heat exchanger only as recieved from Magnuson, after the car was at operating temps down the road at 65mph IAT's were 102*F starting with firm excelerationin 3rd and 4th gear and went up to 143.6*F.

Same test with chiller on for 3 minutes to cool it down(not the coldest it could get) IAT started at 66*F hard exceleration in 3rd and 4th gear and went up to 84*F.

Chiller off run through the gears 0-120mph IAT started at 102*F and went up to 157*F.

Chiller on run through the gears 0-120mph IAT started at 68*F (not as cool as it could get but wanted to just be done for the day) and went up to 118*F.

We still haven't got the the amount of refridgerant correct yet, but we are close and it is hard to judge the cabin A/C since it is so hot and I test with it off and the inside gets heat soaked.

So hopefully I dyno tomorrow and want to get to the track too, but the dyno is 2 hours away and the track is 30 miles the other way so we will see what happens. Also my data logging still has issues and doesn't want to connect much with the live link through the laptop and handheld.

Can't wait to see some track times. Just a couple with it on, a couple with it off.

SCT has an intake air temp PID. Might just be labeled as IAT and not written out, can't rememeber but I just logged mine a few weeks ago.

Im unsure of how youre disabling the ac at WOT, looks like youre using a relay? On tuning programs there are parameters to disable the ac at WOT like the screenshot below. Funny thing is looks like GM wants to keep the AC on even during WOT. Please keep in mind I havent used this.

{G0101} A/C Disable TPS: If throttle position is above this value, then the A/C compressor will be turned off.
{G0102} A/C Enable TPS: If the A/C compressor has been disabled due to high throttle position (TPS), then the TPS must fall below this value to re-enable the compressor.
{G0103} A/C Disable RPM: If engine RPM is above this value at WOT, then the A/C compressor will be turned off.
{G0104} A/C Enable RPM: If the A/C compressor has been disabled due to high RPM, then RPM's must fall below this value to re-enable the compressor.
{G0105} A/C Disable Timer: If the A/C clutch has been disabled for a WOT condition it will remain off for this long even after the WOT condition no longer exists.
{G0106} A/C Disable Max Timer: If the A/C clutch has been disabled for a WOT condition it can only remain off for the maximum amount of time specified by this parameter.

You could try increasing the time on the {G0105} & {G0106} so the AC would run later.

I used SCT today and works great when it doesn't give you a failed to connect message which it did most of the day.

Thanks FRKNlo....good info.

We have looked at the comanded A/C disable and haven't tweaked it but it appears to still shut the compressor off at WOT even set as it appears.....were going to try to see if it can be comanded to disengage even earlier.

On the amount of additional freon the system needs that has been trial and error but were pretty dang close to work this well. Today was just horrible for outside heat & humidity.

Waiting to see the dyno & track results.
