My 1lt RS Camaro is black and water spots bedevil me everytime it rains. I recently got my car checked out for the power steering and drivers seat and the body shop washes and details my car and it looks clean.

I asked the guy who washed it and he said there was this car sprayer that had some detailed in the bottle and when he sprayed it on and rubbed it in the water spots went away and looked real good. I need some help finding the same kind of cleaners. I like to wash the my own car but all my work is foiled when it rains, but this pink miracle spray in a bottle works and keeps water marks away.

Vinegar is good as a quick and easy solution for new spots if you catch em early, but you need to wash and wax after as it eats away any wax coat you have on there.

Rain water spots are never an issue. Unless it's acid rain, your next wash will take them right out. Hard water spots from manmade sources are a different story.

Careful there. You can't just go around suggesting easy tricks around here. I suggested the old and proven trick of using mayo to clean crap from a car a couple days ago and practically got laughed out of the thread. People here will just as soon polish a car, which btw should be your LAST resort, before trying something new no matter how simple it may be.

That being said, the adamas detail spray is also pretty good, "normal" and I see its on discount. Good deal there.

I am not kidding you - I've mentioned this in a few threads. I use a REAL Chamois (shammy) cloth.

They run around $11 but you'll DEFINITELY need to dry your car immediately after washing it. You won't have any water spots - and make sure you wash and dry in the shade. Once the water dries on your windshield or paint, good luck - BUT - a REAL CHAMOIS cloth which is damp (it must be in order to work as it should), WILL remove and prevent water spots (for that one wash until your car gets wet again). Don't even consider a towel - you might as well use TT.

I'm on my second 'vert (a 2008 Saturn Sky Redline and the Camaro 'vert). A nice car needs to look classy - water spots kill it. Dark colors are especially susceptible to highlight these water spots - however, my silver Sky did as well. That's why I chose Summit White for my Camaro color. You just can't see the spots on the paint unless you're standing right next to the car. You do, however, need to catch the windshield before the sun dries the water drops.

A REAL CHAMOIS CLOTH is the answer (and not that crummy Sham-Wow thing, either!).

I got frustrated by rain spots on the black 2011 i owned, and no polish seemed to help except nu finish, and it made them a lot less perevelent and noticeable.
