Well, i got a call from my local dealer on sat. he stated that as of right now only one car would be offered to each dealership but the dealership must meet the requirements of selling "X" vehicles to make the dealer list for the new ZL1. He also said this is going to be a limited production only vehicle, maybe 1 yr only. In turn he mentioned that i was first on the list.....is this true?? is he playing games??? I'm just wondering if its worth waiting....you guys tell me!!

Yes it will actually. You should just sell your v6 and get the grand sport.

Enjoy the Corvette.... But keep in mind if you price out the Grand Sport to include the performance features you get with the ZL1 (dual mode exhaust, magnetic suspension, etc...) it is closer to $60,000 even on a 2011 2LT. Get a higher trim package and the 2012 model and you are way over $60,000 MSRP. The Corvette is lighter but the power to weight ratio isn't as good, so it is all about what you are looking to do with the car.

If only a 1 year production, then I'm out. The posters here are right. GM will take full advantage of the desire for this car and the price will be high, period. That's why I waited 2 years to buy mine. If people do pay $50K+ for it (and they will) AND it only lasts for a 1 year production model, then the gouge price will never fall IMO. I'd just as soon super charge my SS for under $10K and get that type of performance for a LOT less money if it goes well over $50K. I'm sure you can add body kits, hoods, and whatever else they'll make and make it almost look exactly like one too.

True. Except the part about it being a 1 year only run. high Chevrolet sales and high Camaro sales factor in. So, don't count on "Bob's Chevrolet" Getting an allocation unless he really does a huge volume.

Look - folks....

I don't often make broad "This is the facts" statements...because it's rare I'm ever 100% correct.....

HOWEVER...

Chevrolet did NOT put two+ years of development and effort into this car to only build it for one or two years. You can take that to Church on Sunday.
