When do you think GM will release Z28 specs?

Q1: Has GM "Officially" said that the Z28 is coming for 2012?
Q2: If yes, when do you think the General is going to give us the specs?

This question has been asked so many times before, on this board and many others....let's not start it again!

No offense, but this is such a common question! Do you not think someone hasn't asked it before?

Project not finalized yet, but I can reassure you, as a long time forum member, that when it does, someone will have the info to release, even before GM does.

Remember, we have a lot of inside forum members (i.e. dealers, etc.) and they're always the ones to release info before GM does, to the public. Our beloved Camaros went through that last year.

Be patient and have faith.

I am going to go out on a limb and say sometime right after the first of the year, maybe between January 10-23. Just a guess.

I really hope you are correct, but I don't think we will see any pricing until summer 2011 at the very soonest. We might see a rolling pre-production Z/28 at the Detroit Auto Show in Jan. and if we get really, really lucky we might get pricing and options when they release the 2012 lineup in July/August. A lot depends on how the new Mustang is selling and what developments Ford does to the GT500. If the new Mustang is selling a lot better than the Camaro and the GT 500 goes to 600+HP, Chevy cannot hold back on the Z/28 for too long. Strictly a gut feeling on my part and nothing else.

I highly doubt pricing would be released at the announcement. also you mean 2012 model year right?

That's what I'm thinking. Hopefully, by Detroit show, we can get the specs.

1) Nothing has been "officially" announced yet. Shoot the Z28 test mules that have been posted here on the forums don't even "officially" exist. Some insiders has said to look for them come 2012 MY though it might not be out at the start of the MY.

2) I'm hoping they will do it at the Detroit show but no one really knows.

I'd guess after the convertible is revealed. The 'vert will be a MUCH bigger seller for them, so they won't want to steal the limelight by sharing a new model debut (I'd think)...

So WyteMamba, Dragoneye, you guys think the vert would be the main announcement for the Detroit show and there won't be any Z28 mention?

BTW, is convertible considered to 2011 MY or 2012 MY?

I expect the Detroit show to feature either the convertible, or the 2012 coupe (or both)....but all that's just my opinion and a guess.

The reveals all depend on how far along the respective models are. Obviously it's important to get your face out there as fast as possible, especially with the competition....but not until it's finished.

I think the 'vert will be a '12. The '11 model year will be done around April of next year. There's not much point in starting a new model for one or two months.
