Choice between CAI's. Need Help

I need help choosing between a Injen Power Flow Long Tube CAI or a Vararam Intake, or K&N Typhoon. Im a noob with DIY and price isnt an option. Which has better gains? How do they both perform in rainy weather? It is my first upgrade.

I went with CAI but they were the first to sell for the 2012. CAI is a really great company so look at them too.

Check out Vararam, Injen, and Cold Air Inductions. Those three seem to be the top three choices. Out of your three choices, I would look at Vararam or Injen. The only reason I am not a fan of the Injen intake is because of its position. So I would pick Vararam from the three you listed.

I also have the Roto-Fab and I like it a lot. I have also had the Vararam from the pre-production days. I know they have worked out most of their kinks now. I don't think you will be disappointed with any setup you go with.

Its between Vararam and Injen, I hate how injen is so close to the ground and im scared of hydrolocking, and vararam is new and i really don't know which one has better horsepower gains. I dont care about the looks btw.

ok, the VR performs slightly better then the Injen to 60, its pretty much identical. But the VR is designed to be even better in the top of third gear. Pulling somewhere around 27rwhp after 6000rpm in third
I love my VR, would also love a longtube injen.

I love my K&N Typhoon. I think it looks great and I couldn't believe the noticeable throttle response improvements it delivered and the sound is wicked. Plus, even though you said $$ weren't the biggest factor, you cannot convince me that a Vararam or Injen is worth $100+ more than the $200 shipped I paid for my K&N.

I thought that K&N has CEL problems...did you come across any?

This always seems to come up. For whatever reason(s) their series 63 had some history with that but the Typhoon (series 69) never has. I know I haven't.

Injen, AEM brute force(cold air version), vararam, CAI. You can't go wrong with any of them. I personally went with AEM custom modded my way a little

Isn't the choice obvious???? HEHE. On a more seroius note, here is a little bit about us:

Cold Air Inductions, Inc. intake systems benefits:

: Tig welded aluminum air box (high luster finish reflects radiant heat)

: Insulated air box (this adding another layer of thermal (convection) protection)

: Aluminum lid with stainless steel ¼ turn fasteners (fast filter removal)

: Viewing window for fast easy filter inspection.

: High Luster ceramic coated intake tube (coated inside and out, yet another layer of thermal protection)

: Smooth bore (88.9 mm) intake tube construction (this minimizes bends and restrictions within the system)

: 8” V-stack air filter with built in velocity stack (helps reduce turbulence for truer MAF reading)

: 8 layer air filter (maximizing filtration for prolonged engine life

: LIFETIME WARRANTY

We have sold thousands of intakes, have thousands of happy customers, and incorporate design features that make our system a true Cold Air Intake. We see great #’s on the Dyno as well as the track, and can keep our intake temps within 2 degrees of ambient air due to our design features.

Check out these links as well:

Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help!!
