Tweaking mushy accelerator

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but:

Since the accelerator isn't mechanical, is there a way to adjust the mushy play out of the first 1-1 1/2 inches of travel in the accelerator?

I'm assuming that was programmed in for around town driveability and MPG considerations. Anyone else adjusted the electronic accelerator?

There is a lot of Torque reduction, that when eliminated, really helps this feeling. We take care of this issue, among many others with our performance tunes.

So losing the play is only through a tune? I miss the old days.

Any experience out there on the impact to MPG after the torque returns?

You may want to read about a fix posted over at the Mustang forums as they were having a similar issue with about 1/2" or so of "dead space."

As much as I hate to hear that ypu are having this issue, I am glad that it is not just me. I am seeing more and more discussins about this now. It is extremely annoying around town (stop and go driving). I took the car back to the dealership twice and have talked to the GM regional represetative. There is nothing they can do. They say that the car is within the specs for the throttle respnse. Does anyone know what tuner will work to alleviate this problem ? Where can you get a car tuned ? I live in Mechanicsburg PA.

Take it to your dealer and tell them to adjust the clevis pin play (free-play) to the height in mm you'd prefer, or in any garage.

Id advise you not to though

Add a supercharger... there won't be any lag in power.

i push the throttle pedal and it's pure joy!

Thanks for the tip on the brushes...it makes sense. I may take a look at that. Anyone else try that with their Camaro yet?
