most any engine/vehicle/etc, if properly cared for, will last for a long time. even under heavy abuse

I said heavy abuse. not automotive rape and pillaging.

more updates...
had a good friend come by yesterday with some heavy machinery.... took us most of the afternoon.... before: after: Fence still needs to be put in and the front yard needs to be cleaned up and "dressed" up for the appraiser. I'm heading to NC so Emily gets to plant flowers while I'm gone.

I didnt like them. my front yard is practically a desert from the one, and between my house and the one on the left, I get a nice little mud pond when it rains because the trees are blocking all the sunlight and no grass grows. and I'm building a big fence and need to be able to drive my truck between the two houses.... trees - 0 Spike - 4

Wow, If I had known you were such a handy-man to have around, I would have offered you a job out here at our property and you could have indeed bought a house here in town and then we would have been able to help you move.
Love the paint colors, your wife has good taste and you are a very good hubby for knowing that. The house is nice too, but it could have used the tree on the left to soften the edge... but you can plant something later after the fence and yard mods to accomodate your trucks go up, something like a crape myrtle would do a nice job (just don't butcher it in the winter, let it grow like a tree). Nice kitchen too with all the appliances, that's going to be one sweet house when you get it all unpacked and decorated. Congrats on your new home!

trust me, the trees were too much. had they been trimmed up over the years, they probably could have stayed. but, they were just overgrown. so were the massive bushes that surrounded the front of the house that came up first and foremost. you should also see the 7-8 massive pines right behind the house that I still have to pull out.... I'll def tell Emily that you like the look. the blue looks really good compared to the dark green that it did have. we were going to swap out the door for a dark hardwood, but I think the color looks just right the way it is.

cut these three trees down just a little bit ago. still have 3 more to cut down. will knock out the one on the corner tomorrow or maybe tonight. gotta tinker with my chainsaw as its over-pressurizing and aerating the fuel tank.
trying to open up the back yard a little for the party next month
