well im worried now cus i read the owner's manual for the car and it was saying how it causes them to wear out much earlier/less fuel efficiency..etc..

so the tires are supposed to be at 36 psi?
and do you think i damaged anything with the tires being low psi?

by the way not 3-4 months straight! the light went away for a while, and came back a while ago. The psi also changes alot for some reason. I live in the hills on the coastline so going up and down the psi changes for some reason

My PSI varies by 4 during the day depending on driving conditions and temp. I filled them to 36 using my gauge, and one was still reading 35. Now they read 34 in the morning and are usually at 38 by the time I get home from work. Of course, it is 107 out.

And to answer your question, if it was a few PSI it won't affect anything. Judging by the fact that the light turned off sometimes, you were probably pretty close anyway. Should be fine.

I have a 1LT with a set of Polished SS wheels, keep them no lower than 36 but usually 37/38 cold.

I haven't added air for well over 6 months and still holding close to 38psi, and it sits in the garage most of the time...weird.

This. I'm amazed at how well these tires/rims retain pressure.

For about the first year I had to add air about once a month. But since then I've gone about 5 or 6 months without adding air and I still read 36-38 psi cold.

Setting in the garage tires read 36 psi. Take it to town the tires warm up to 38-40.Set the pressure cold at 36 then when they warm up they will go a couple of pounds over but will not go under 36 unless it is winter time.Winter time reset the pressure cold to 36 psi.The tires will loose 3-4 lbs as the temperature drops near or below freezing.

36 PSI, COLD. If you go out for 50 mile cruise and check your tire pressure and find they are at 39, don't let any air out.
