I did both trunk dropoffs, both quarter panels, both inner wheel wells, both outer wheel wells, trunk floor, trunk floor braces, gas tank, gas tank straps, Tail panel, and about a bazillion other pieces that were required to weld that rusty car back together. All the floors too. It adds up fast. That is why I would advise anyone to look long and hard at a rusty resto and ask yourself if you have the ability and funds to complete the job. Once you are done, what can you sell it for? A rust free project is a much better deal in the long run.

Just some free advise from someone who has been there before. You pays your money, you takes your pick.

very good advice from Stingr69, when your looking for a projet car try to find as high optioned car as posible (Formula-TA). That old saying "How fast do ya wanna go" Thats a big project good luck

I'll take pics of the seats and stuff tomorrow. I'm going back up and I'm gonna spend some time up there. I'll post stuff tomorrow.

You're not gonna listen to me...But I'll say it anyways. A wise old man once told me, "If you want an old car, find one that's already fixed like you like it and buy it, you'll spend a lot less money in the long run." He was right...BOY was he right.

I understand the wisdom in that... but i can't afford to buy one that's already fixed up... most are way over ten grand, and and I cant afford that... at least this way, I'll be able to fix it the way i want it...

At least pay a bodyman or mechanic, or both to check it out first.

this advice makes a lot of sense, but im not going to use it cuz of a couple reasons. 1-what shadow says, about them costing A LOT is a major problem. 2-its kinda fun to fix it up urself, wats the fun if someone else does it for u?

ps: shadow, it looks like u need an "I" for that pontIac logo on the back lol

they do have high beams. there should be a button on the floorboard above the "dead pedal" on the left side of the floor. step on that to turn your high beams on and off.

as for the mouse in the car.... better than a nest of brown recluse spiders... (what I found in my 78)

as for the interior... check out www.yearone.com and sign up on www.nastyZ28.com as they have.... literally.... a metric shit tonne of 2nd gen parts.

yeah, but there's no fun in that. thats kinda like saying, if I want a fast car, dont build one up to be fast, save up and buy a nitro drag car.

dont worry about getting used to the new setup. wen i got my 86, EVERYTHING was push-button, even the turn signals. it was wierd cuz i was used to my dads truck, and my moms shitty sedan, so wen i got in this it felt like i was gettin in a spaceship lol. but now, wenever i hav to drive someone elses car, it feels weird, cuz the turn signals r levers. u just gotta drive it a little bit, and ull get used to it.

yeah, I'm sure that i can get used to it... I'm conflicted now though... i stumbled across an 81 firebird, and the guy said he needs the money, so he'd give me a good deal... he has all the interior stuff in his garage, so all i'd have to do is install it.
here's the pics
