LFX oil consumption

I have about 10K miles on my car, 2012 LFX V6. My last oil change was at 6,000 and yesterday I checked my dipstick and found the oil level to be at minimum part of the stick. I topped it up, took one quart to top it. Do you guys think that's pretty much normal behavior for these engines? I mean one quart in 4K miles is not terrible but it's not great as well.

What was the level immediately after the oil change?

GM will tell you that a quart in 4,000 miles is within range. In my experience with GM engines, anything from a quart in 2,000 miles to negligible in 10,000 miles happens with a new engine. The former may eventually improve, but will not get to negligible.

After I put in the quart then the dipstick read at the maximum of the dipstick. It looks like I had used exactly a quart.

The LLT engine is the same way. You just have to keep a eye on the oil level.

3000 miles since last change. Still right were it was. Didn't use any oil.

it should say somewhere in your owners manual. i work for nissan as a tech, they state that consuming 1qt a month would be considered normal. i think gm is is around that number to

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.
