Ordering a 2013?

Thought you had to wait till may 10th? I see some people have placed an order. Can someone clear this up for me?

Well evidently you can order now but I don't think the first DOSP cycle is until may and I don't think dealers find out there allocations until may.

At this point a 2013 order is basically just a number. until they give them allocations and let them use the allocation in the DOSP cycle GM is not doing anyting with the order.

I had a 2012 on order that got pushed and they are transitioning that to a 2013 order today.

hognutz is right. GM GlobalConnect opened at the end of last week for being able to configure 2013's. You can get an order number and as soon as there is allocation your dealer can apply it to their orders. I wanted to be first in line so I went in as soon as I could make it in. There is a 2012 transition order in front of me that they needed to enter in, but my order was first in my dealers system for 2013.

My dealer notified me the allocation they had was converted to a 2013. The order you place for a 2012 isn't converted automatically, you have to place a new order and let the allocation war begin all over. If you don't place the order, the dealer shows up with no demand and probably wont get one of the first allocations that come up.

That's why I placed a number order to show my dealer has a buyer waiting for a 2013.
Will it help?
I don't know, but if you don't try, you will never know.
