thinking about this for when corvette comes in..
This car had no boost controller and 56mm turbos in the 82a/r housings. The goal on this car was to make it not come into power too violently. No BC means the wastegates start to open real early and that slows the spool for the last 4-5psi. With a good BC on a bone stock engine you get full 600wtq by 3400. Dual ballbearing Garrett turbos would bolt right in and spool faster. Really once you drive one, you see the lag is really no big deal. In higher gears on the highway, it spools up some boost and pulls well in the mid 2000's. And with a bit of a cam spinning it up to 7000 in a vet gives you a very large powerband.

nice.. 3400 be like my srt4 with ur trim..
just curious about fast spooling since a lil dangerous to brake boost corvette on highway and it start spinning the tires..

but outside lag which not much like half a sec when u first stomp gas.. the benefits of a good turbo system great.. better mpg,, more power.. still great TQ down low (once in boost) and takes a second to lower and raise boost

They can taylor the turbos to what you want. If you want 600ft/lbs by 2500rpm you could run the 51s in a .63 a/r and have crazy instant spool down low torque and just limit the top end. In an auto car like this whenever you are on it it is full boost and over 3500rpm so you never even notice. Run a ~3500rpm stall and floor it and you will never notice any lag/etc as the car is in boost full time.

Uhm don't think thats a problem.. 14psi at 3300rpms.. Base turbos, fresh build motor and low compression 8.7:1.

We are adding a AEM Truboost Controller to the build now to slow the spool a bit and start building some big power up top with more boost!

Hahaha. It's just nuts on a automatic stalled car for the street for our client's purposes. I'd rather drop the springs down, make 8-9psi at the lower RPM and then crank up 16+ on the top end (Right now its at 12.2 and we havent let it go above 6100rpms). This just shows the potential of the turbos, and I bet if we had more pressure on the WGs it would make more boost at that RPM. Nuts.

spooling that fast raises the eyebrow as to if the turbos should actually be bigger. Even if the pre-turbo pressure is acceptable, it makes me wonder if you could go up on snail a bit and make more HP at less boost. CFM.

can I get a measurement of the intercooler...overall width from the end of the inlet to the end of the outlet? Just curious where that compares to my vortech FMIC width.

Whilst correct, if it is a base kit, intended for a mild bolt on upgrade and not a high boost setup. Many users will be perfectly happy with the fast spool and low boost.
I guess they are just showing what can be done and how far it can be pushed

As it was said above, you can go with 51, 56, 61, 66mm and have your choice of .63, .82, or larger a/r housings so you can spool where you want and make the power you want. If all you want is <800hp the quick spooling little ones are pretty sweet for instant power.

My bad, 66s.
