I got $1,000 from my GM Card points.....be sure to wait and mension that you have these points until after you make the deal, otherwise the dealer won't want to drop the price of the car as they figure you're already getting the $1,000 break from your GM points towards the purchase. I got $1,500 off plus the GM $1,000 for a $2,500 total discount in Dec'09.

Just found out there are two different World Cards. I have the newer one so I only got $1000 off but that is still good. Glad to just get my car.

It's interesting that even the World and Gold cards are considered "old" cards now.

Some of us have what is probably better described as the "original" GM card terms. I know I got mine back when it was still a dark grey or black card... mid 1990s. Never agreed to a change in terms and I remember when the bank changed to HSBC, there was a letter included, telling me all my terms would remain the same... only the servicing bank was changing.

I'm sure it still collects 5% earnings but maybe GM has quietly slipped some changes in. Used to be up to $1000 a year accruable, capped at $5000 at redemption on any vehicle.

Unfortunately some of my points are scrolling off now, after 7 years. They've mailed me some good offers but I just have too much debt elsewhere to pay down right now, before buying anything.

I useed 4500$ on a GM Card Round up Bonus. last Feb. I thought that was killer. That was the deal breaker fo me.
