Fuse Pull on LS3 Still Necessary?

When the car first came out I know that many had to pull fuse #5 and #20 to reset the octane tables when the car had low octane fuel put in it. Was this issue ever fixed with a software update? My LS3 was built in June of 2011 so before I do the fuse pull I'm just curious if the problem was handed by GM.

Thanks.

not sure if anyone knows... it takes 5 minutes and it can't hurt anything.

Not to my knowledge. If your car came from the dealer w/ 87 octane and you have since been running premium you should do the fuse pull. But you need to continue running premium. If you run a tank of regular, you'll have to start all over. Basically if you stick with the premium octane rating you'll be fine. Preformance is really sluggish w/ regular in an SS.

I've not heard anyone mentioning a flash update related to octane tables. If you have a scanner you can tell if you need to do the fuse pull. It can't hurt anything to do the fuse pull though.

I've posted the high and low octane tables in one of the threads on here. If you scan for spark advance you should be able to tell whether its running from the high or low table, as the numbers are way different. There are other spark adder tables that will effect the total advance, though.

Found the post. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...1&postcount=17
