As well this car was not just setup to go straight,
Im sure no one has been able to look into the tune yet to see how the traction management is setup on these cars or anything like that. BTW anyone have the AFR on the cars when they go WOT or the timing? Look at the 2003 EVO;s that ran the AFR almost into 9's when at full boost from the factory. How much is chevy trying to protect the engine when you hammer down. Theres alot of data not being looked at. |

Rational heads can sit back to wait for more cars to make passes. This is one car -- the first car -- the be presented to the world in private hands at the track. Just wait a couple of weeks...
Where is Evan Smith, anyway?

Some guys need to stop thinking that just because one or two people out of a hundred run fast times that it's supposed to represent the car.
Mustang guys, AND Camaro guys, using SOMEONE ELSES time to represent their car. And it goes both ways. I could put my 15 year old daughter in in a GT500 and laugh at the Mustang when she can't run low 12s. |

A 12.5 is embarrassing for the ZL1 considering all the hype. But in reality any car that runs a 12.5 is pretty darn quick!! http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...t/viewall.html |

That would mean other's need to get off their keyboards and actually race their car. What a novel idea!

Guys I am by far an expert but I have owned 3 LSx cars and each of them has gotten stronger and ran better times as they acquired more miles. I cant say for sure if this is the case with the LSA but keep in mind this car has 200 miles on the odo.

Thats pretty disappointing, all the talk of aerodynamics and launch control and auto being a pure integration and magnetic ride and its well.....slow. Guess i'll just put my money into modding my SS rather than getting a ZL1. :( rather disappointed.

It is not... I watched a bone stock CTS-V run 12.7's all day long on this exact same track in better weather last month

Trap speed tells it all. Even with the car being "broken in", how will it pick up another 4 mph!? 116 is what my dad ran in his bone stock cts-v. Unless GM tuned this thing to open up after the break in period, its not looking too good. I hope the manual car will do better. Looks like a c6 z06 is a much better buy at this point.

People are so quickly disappointed. If you believed all the marketing hype, yes, I can understand the disappointment. Pre-production hype #s are going to be different from actual #s from a dealer-bought car. Also, traction is not going to be great on the stock tires. Some of us knew and said that because we have been running them on our GT500s....and they suck! I am just glad to start seeing "real world" runs, (not simulated). Set of DRs and that auto ZL1 will blast down the 1/4 |
