L99 Stock Exhaust question

Does it get a little louder after it has "seasoned"?

Have 90 miles on it now.

Thanks,

Jim

I dont think so... which has led to me buying the Solo Mach cat back exhaust and now the Dynatech LTs and HF cats

Maybe you could fill it up with cajun spices or something?

I'd still prefer beer can chicken.

I didn't season mine that long but there was no change! I took my Tin Man cans off before 3,000 miles!

YA there is. After 2 years my Solo's have twice the sound/rumble as they did when new- Carbon
build up I'm told. I don't know if this is true of the factory exhaust, but it sure has increased the sound of my Solos.

Maybe but I know it's the fiberglass in the SOLO resonated X blowing out. Everytime I take my J pipes off I find more of it stuck in the adjustable end caps.

Plus OP is asking about the stock system.

I know what he's asking. Is there no carbon build up in the stock exhaust ?

Of course but on a stock system the "mellowing" that comes from carbon build up isn't really noticeable.

mellowing- ? I think not. What I said was "twice the sound & rumble" plus "increased sound " is not exactly mellowing.
Stop digging.

I notice my stock exhaust got a bit louder after several thousand miles. But in reality it will still be way to quiet and sound like shit. Do yourself a favor and switch it out ASAP. However, be aware that the AFM drone gets even louder and more annoying. So get a performance tune and tune the AFM off unless of course it doesn't bother you.

I went to SOLO Performance axle back on stock exhaust and it was much better. Then I went to SOLO's high flow cats and Mach XL cat back system. Now I am happy...for now!
