Normal.............just make sure your temp control is on cold and your fan is off. The heat is just radiant heat from engine/trans and such. The blue light will always be on, on the left side.

Make sure to have the fan turned all the way off. Air will still blow through the vents (usually it is warm), so push the Recirculating button (it's the one with the arrows in a circle). That will close off MOST of the air if not all of it coming through the vents.

I had that same question when I first got my car ....
First off (like many other GM cars I have owned) whether or not the system is "on", air will continue to flow into the cabin ... and whatever setting you have the temperature dial pointing to is the temperature of the air that will come out ...
And secondly, YES ... even if the system is off, there is always a light on on the climate control panel somewhere. I thought this was a little odd myself, since it seems that if the system was "off", all the lights should go out. BUT NNNOOOO....
there is always a blue light on the left or an orange light on on the right side ....

The lights on mine do not stay on when I have the fan dial set all the way off. The 'blue' light with the snowflake turns on when I turn the fan on. Is this different than the way others work?

Switching to internal air circulation stops it if the fan is all the way down.
