Hey, I am going today to either get old mufflers put back on, new aftermarket mufflers or some corrections made. I will make and post a video now, its hailing and theres ice pellets banging off the car, what the hell! I figured my bonehead neighbor ruined the vinyl so it was scratched upon receiving from the dealer but I dint say anything, I will try and order just that one stripe and make them install it for me. Its right on hood, directly in my view, i'm disgusted. You guys are going to laugh, but this neighbor, he's been working with cars for about 30 years and has laways been a Mustang guy. He's also always been the jealous type in a way. Believe me, his 2012 Boss 302 is way more valuable than my Ls Camaro, but thats just the way he is with some things. I just can't believe he could act this stupid and not know what to do and not do in terms of vinyl... You guys think he did this on purpose right?! I DO!!!

I want to just post what muffler shop is giving me a hard time and over charged me for all of you long islanders on here who may be interested... They are "American Muffler Shop and Auto Repair" on Old Country Road in Westbury, nassau county. I went to them based on the fantastic reviews on the computer. The guys are so rude and do not do what they say! His story keeps changing, yuck.

Someone give me directions to posting a video in the meantime please. I will try with camera video but don't know how good quality will be but you should get the point. I will definately know how to email the video so if anyone wants to give me their direct email if interested, I can do that after. I just need to figure out how I am uploading onto this page.

Upload it to youtube first, the take the letters at the end of the url and enclose them in [u2b] tags.

Ex: (u2b)ax3gh7asef6(/u2b)"

Change the parenthesis to square brackets [ ]

Ok, I will do as soon as I get home. Can I just ask something in the meantime... Just two things I would like to know more about... First thing, what does changing headers do and in my situation what would happen, and the second thing, what does removing a resonator do?! Those are the only things I'm still unsure about and don't know much on. Thanks!

Also, an update, this morning I went to my main mechanic, he's been my families go to guy for a very long time and made him lay under car and take a look. In his opinion, he's had corvettes forever, so he just wanted to assure me that My little v6 could never sound like his, (DUH), but he thought that everything under the car was done right, Except that he recommends I have them take these giant tips off and go back to those that came with the car, and then he said to add an x-pipe and see how that is. He also said I could use new headers(but I don't understand) and he was surprised that such a well-known muffler shop talked me into placing those tips on the car where they really didn't belong, and also that they did the job without the x-pipe installed. You guys agree with him right?! I need to call the muffler man, what should I say? Do you think he should put the x pipe on for no additional charge at this point?

Also, FYI, for those who care to know, with the vinyl tape marks I was having problems with, he put some armorall spray in it, then rubbed something else, used a drying machine and it does look a lot better, thank goodness! Apparently whatever he did blended into the tape and made that shine from my dumb neighbors wax fade as to where its almost invisible now! I knew there'd be a way, there's a way for everything!! Thanks again all of you!

Changing the log manifolds to longtube headers will dramatically increase the efficiency of your exhaust. It will change the sound a lot too. If you put longtubes on your car, you will have to tune it. That will void your warranty most likely. Removing a resonator will make your car a little louder, and change the tone the exhaust.

Your long-time mechanic is correct. You can try the x-pipe, but I doubt you'll get them to put one in for free. I think you need to get them to acknowledge that the tips were a stupid idea, and that they should make it right for no additional charge. Whether that be put the mufflers and tips back on, or weld the old tips onto straight pipe that deletes the muffler.

Ok, I am going to do that now! I could have sworn he said they would be doing an xpipe installed with muffler delete and new tips for 250. Yet he only cut old mufflers, installed these ridiculous tips and left all pipes stock, just how they were when I pulled in. I certainly think they need to do x pipe for free! What is difference between resonated and manga flow x pipe or are they the same thing or does that part not really matter? Also, if I pay extra just for the resonator removal while I'm there, is that only going to make it louder(because its at a perfect amount of noise right now) or will it change the tone and get it a little more choppy, throaty(because that's what I really want!). It's definitely more appealing to me now than it was at stock sound, but I need the tune changed a bit, not so much Japanese, but a little more american, at least as far as I can on a v6.

Hey Goober, a donkey dickhead shop would do that!! They're are coming off at 5 this afternoon and stock tips are being welded onto straight pipes and an xpipe installed as well. We will try that as a last resort and if it fails as well, they will be putting everything back to factory for free, bastards!!

So, they don't carry magna flows, but will regular x pipes do same thing? That's what they have. I'm going to leave resonators on and put stock tips back. Hope that does it for me:/ They are also refunding me on the donkey dick tips, the owners are brothers and today I got to speak with the other brother than I had dealt with and he apologized and said he would have never used those tips, in fact his brother had them hidden because he didn't even know they had them in the shop. I just wish I had my own aftermarket tips, but until then, at least the stock will be better than these truck sized ones!! Thanks everyone!
