Also... One more thing I forgot, can anyone tell me why my brakes are now squeaking? Is this normal? Do I need to do something? The car didnt do this for the first week, but it has since I did the muffler. Now every time I stop, the fronts are squeaking..

Brake a little harder and see if it stops. Sometimes dust can make them squeak if they are applied lightly alot.

I just wish I had my own aftermarket tips, but until then, at least the stock will be better than these truck sized ones!! Thanks everyone!
as long as they look like this, but i would ask them what brand they are just so you know.

and the stock resonator will have to come off anyway if you install an x pipe, cause it will go where the resonator was.

With the weather that you've been having they'll be squeaking. Mine squeak bad after the snow/salt/grime treatment.

Way to high a price for a muffler delete and those tips do usually go on trucks. Hate to say it but the fitting to the stock pipe along with those welds looks like a blind monkey installed them. They should have paid you.

We have a few mechanics like that around here but they aren't blind.

The point where the pipes come together looks like a poor job. Pipe stretch funny and weld doesn't look to good quality. Hard to tell alignment from the pictures.

I had a local guy keep my factory cats.. yes they factory cats are 1000 times better than anything you can buy aftermarket.. and will flow plenty.
And then had the resonators deleted and had a MagnaFlo X flow muffler put in where the resonators were and then straight pipe out the back..
the sound is awesome, the interior noise is very little, except when I hammer the throttle ,, then it sounds even better.
This will help with the crappy sound you say you are getting. I get complements on the sound all the time and the install is pretty straight forward, I did however have thick wall stainless pipe ran, which is pretty expensive but worth the sound qualities for me anyway.

and yes your tips do seem to extend a bit long but that is something that is up to the owner to decide if you like it or not..
If you want I can get you the magnaflow part number if interested..

CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE

:: SECTION 27150-27159

27150. (a) Every motor vehicle subject to registration shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise, and no muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass, or similar device. (b) Except as provided in Division 16.5 (commencing with Section 38000) with respect to off-highway motor vehicles subject to identification, every passenger vehicle operated off the highways shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained so as to meet the requirements of Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 27200), and no muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass, or similar device. (c) The provisions of subdivision (b) shall not be applicable to passenger vehicles being operated off the highways in an organized racing or competitive event conducted under the auspices of a recognized sanctioning body or by permit issued by the local governmental authority having jurisdiction.

The muffler shop also has to re-install the stock system for free if they modified the exhaust illegally.

27150.5. Any person holding a retail seller's permit who sells or installs an exhaust system, or part thereof, including, but not limited to, a muffler, in violation of Section 27150.1 or 27150.2 or the regulations adopted pursuant thereto, shall thereafter be required to install an exhaust system, or part thereof, including, but not limited to, a muffler, which is in compliance with such regulations upon demand of the purchaser or registered owner of the vehicle concerned, or to reimburse the purchaser or registered owner for the expense of replacement and installation of an exhaust system, or part thereof, including, but not limited to, a muffler, which is in compliance, at the election of such purchaser or registered owner.

This section is difficult to enforce since few Ca LEO's carry a decibel meter. Fewer still know the SAE engineering test procedures.

27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an exhaust system so modified. (b) For the purposes of exhaust systems installed on motor vehicles with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of less than 6,000 pounds, other than motorcycles, a sound level of 95 dbA or less, when tested in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers Standard J1169 May 1998, complies with this section. Motor vehicle exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to, nonoriginal exhaust equipment.

JohnS1991, if you have a 2013 model like your profile says, you can't change the headers. Camaros built from 2012 on have the newer LFX engine that integrates the exhaust manifold into the motor. There is no separate manifold you can swap for headers. It's not an option for you, period.
