BA deck audio output level

2nd topic post. Wheeee!

Ok, wiring in the new Pioneer deck (SPH-DA02). Problem. Maybe. The deck only has (2) line level (RCA) outputs. Why? Who knows.

Since I have the BA premium sound system, I of course have the trunk mounted amp. Question is.... are the levels coming out of the stock head unit considered 'line level' or 'amplified/high level'?

I don't want to shove too much into the amp and have it go -poof-!

If they ARE line level, I'll have to resort to a level converter I guess unless there's an angle I'm not seeing in my influenza coma I'm 1/2 in right now.

The inputs into the BA amp from the head unit are low level. You should use a LOC to drop the signal down to the proper low level.

As I suspected. But wanted to hear it from someone else.

Any recommendations on good brands, or ones to steer clear of?

Thanks.

AudioControl probably makes the best LOC's. When I was working on solving the speaker pop issue, I tried both the AudioControl LC6i and a LOC by Audiopipe. I liked the features of the AudioControl best (summing, 9V out) but the Audiopipe works just fine. The Audiopipe was way less expensive also (like $14-16 vs the $140 for the AudioControl).

I would recommend just calling or emailing Steve @ ******** and asking him for the audiopipe 4 channel Line output converter.
