well the V8 will beat alot of Cars I mean 0-60 in 4.4 seconds is probably a reality so its almost corvette territory. The V6 on the other hand only a few cars

Wow, since you didn't put any constraints on your premise, and I am assuming you are talking about the Camaro SS, then you are asking for a pretty long list. Take a drive down the road today and you can add at least 95% of those cars to your list.

Here, let me get this list started and other members can add to it:

Smart Car
Civic
Accord
Fit
CR-V
Element
FCX
Insight
Odyssey
Pilot
Ridgeline
S2000
4Runner
FJ Cruiser
Prius <<<--- Although it may be close for that power house
Tacoma
Avalon
Highlander
RAV4
Tundra
Camry
Sequoia
Venza
Land Cruiser
Sienna
Yaris
Corolla
Matrix
Mustang
Mustang GT

...
I'm tired now... someone elses turn.

definately the mustang v6/gt but not even "maybe" a gt500, not with equal drivers anyway. but once you bring the driver factor in, just about any car can beat any car.

The only reason i've said maybe was

I've seen numbers from 4.9 to 4.6 on the 2009 GT500

Then i saw a 4.6 all the way down to 4.3 for the KR

And all of these are on the forums

That is why i said maybe

And roots tend to lose thier advantage at high end

This silly, what do you want to beat them in, off-road rally racing, around the Nurburing, 1/4 mile track, down the Rubicon trail? Seriously, to have any meaning posts like this need to specifically mention what is being compared. I'm guessing you want to compare straightline speed, in which case the Camaro SS should beat anything else under $40k, and the only cars that won't at least be reasonably close to are supercar types. The GT500 specifically should definately be faster straightline but it won't be as comfortable as the GT500 driver would like. Around a track the GT500 could very easily be the slower car. We really don't have solid numbers yet so don't get to excited either way. If you really want to compare theoretical numbers though 0-60 numbers are about the worst choice, 0-60 can give you some idea of how fast a car is but 1/8 and 1/4 times will give you a much better idea of how fast a car is.

There are only a few cars under $25k that will be faster than the V6 Camaro, of course we're not 100% sure what that list is until some production models get to see track time outside of GM's hands!

For the V6 theres no way in hell it will beat a Mspeed 3, Cobalt SS, and maybe the GTI. The two latter ones are 5 second cars. Especially the speed3. That thing will tear the camaro apart on the track and off. I took one for a test drive and I tell ya theres a reason that compact is at the top of the list and the name says it all. For a compact that is. Compared the V8 on the track maybe, in a straight line the SS Camaro would kill. If GM builds the SS Camaro like it did the Cobalt SS, I can see that thing smoke alot cars. Too bad Im not getting one because of gas prices. Although the LLT is still awsome for what I need it for.
