CAMARO STRIKES AGAIN

ever since i got my camaro everyone and their mother wants to race on the street....im not into street racing im 19 and already have high insurances rates and i dont want to put my pride and joy (2lt camaro) in harm but i gotta say the funniest thing happen i was crusing on the highway and kid in a bullet edition mustangs pulls up next to me doing the fast and the furious head nod wanting to race i just waved him off he floors and about 7 cars lengths ahead of me a unmarked car pulls onto the highways turns his lights on and goes after the mustang

when i passed i waved and thought "another one bites the dust" and then a feeling of relief came over me that it wasnt me sitting on the side of the road getting ticketed and the worse part would be explaining to my parents why i got the ticket

but it did make me feel good that it was a mustang and not a another chevy guy getting a ticket

thank you my dad raised me around fast cars and in all those years i never ever recalled him racing on the street or doing stupid things (when he was my age he did lol) but he always taught me that you do those things on a track

and ive seen some guys ive graduated with have some serious accidents becasue of racing in the rain

i cant imagine wrapping up my camaro...id probably start digging my grave

That is a great story. I hope that makes him think about taking it
to the track instead of road racing, there are tracks all around
you can find one and race legally.

i'm 40 and my youngest is 6 years old and he will never see me street race but he will know i got it if i need it with this car

Cool story! Ya, I'm kinda anticipating this when my Camaro 2LT arrives. I know everyone is gonna wanna race between the lights , but I'm not gonna risk it.

yeah very similiar story I had a Corvette try and race me on the interstate in evening traffic. I noticed him come flying up and then he got next to me and started reving and jumping the nose, I turned and laughed at him and he took off. He almost had an accident after cutting a guy off. If you drive one of these prepare for the attention.

had that coming home from a car show this weekend (all chevy) on hiway 167 here in washington state but Mine was a colbolt & I was driving my vette, I didnt even play, I had my daughter in the car with me & I needed to get off the freeway because the vert top didnt get hooked tight lol.

I sometimes think these "everybody wants to race me" stories are the beginnings of urban myths. My friend has owned his for 3 months now and no one has challenged him to a death dual.

As for the story, it's happened to me about 4 times in the past 5 years in my Saturn and Eclipse. People weren't trying to race, but they were tailgating me going on an onramp at the speedlimit. They drop it into a lower gear and pull around me flying by, a cop that's been on the freeway sees this rapid acceleration and tailgating and pulls them over.

Good for you for obeying the law. It pays off.
