I call BS on them not having a seat. You can still get new old stock for the 4th gens but not one currently in production? Makes no sense. They are feeding you a line of crap.

That is a complete load of crap. They are required to, and do, make replacement parts available for at least ten years after the vehicle is made. It's bad enough they won't replace the seat, but it makes me furious when they say ridiculous things like this. If you wanted to buy a new seat (correct 2011 part) any dealer would gladly sell it to you. I doubt the seat has changed since 2011 anyway, but it is possible.

The district rep promised a call back yesterday and told me she would reach out to the dealer for the next step. However, she never called back, so we appear to be back in the delay mode. I truly feel like I have hit a brick wall. If I could just get past the local rep. and get this to corporate.

This may sound over dramatic, but my wife no longer wants to drive with me in the car.

It is rare the paper or TV take on cases like this. In fact, I know the producer at a local TV station and I don't even want to approach her. I don't like mixing business with pleasure.

Thanks Cyber. The case is still pending, but the district rep. promised a call back yesterday, but alas, no call. Nothing but crickets at the moment. I will keep pushing. The car has been grounded from road trips until we get this thing fixed.

Just received the bad news from Chevy District Rep:

1. We wont be replacing the seat, even though we promised we would.
2. The air bag safety system is operating as designed (when we all know it is not).

Case closed, dismissed, no further action.

Very, very frustrating.

Ambient,
call the contact I gave you...asked to be put in touch with corporate head office(go above the district rep)...explain to him the ongoing problem.
see if he can be an advocate for you at the upper corporate level.

offer to send him copies of the repair work orders from your dealer.

At the same time contact your state attorney general office, the ntsb and possibly lawyer up and sue for proper working seat.If you have video evidence probably will help.
