Ragtop Handle

I haven't read anywhere about this yet, so I figured I would ask: Does anybody else feel like you are going to break off that handle every time you go to twist it in order to close the roof??

It does take some getting used to, but it beats the old double levers.

Yep, it feels like you are putting too much strain on the plastic. I haven't heard of one breaking though so

What plastic? I thought it was a die cast handle. It should be plenty tough enough and I can assure you, well tested.

Also I believe it is the same as on the Corvette convertible or at least very similar.

I haven't worried about the handle yet, it seems pretty sturdy.. But I do get nervous that I might hold the button too long and burn the motor when i reach the complete up or down position...

Yeah, me too. I am not sure when to let go of the button...I think I hear a beep sometimes but not sure. I have not had too many opportunities to put the top down with this sucky Ohio weather the last week. or the week to come.

If it does break, hope it goes during warranty!

I am not familiar with the die casting process but it feels and looks like plastic. Maybe it is just plastic surrounding the metal????

It wasn't a bash on the product, just an observation. I feel bad that it seems like I have angered #3. The thread and pictures of #3's Florida trip in the RJT Vert is the reason that I went with that color combo...

It will be beep on the way down. You can let go after the beep and the motor will still be on for about another 2 seconds or so, but the job is complete.

That's good for down, but what about up? I'm nervous it will bang hard into the window frame..

The window frame? My windows roll down and there is only the front crossbar that it attaches to, is that what you mean?

Hmmmm.... I definitely wouldn't consider mine as banging together. I wonder if yours is operating different than mine.
