Nah...

Most of the problems with the factory junk breaking is the result of a lot of power against sticky tires on a heavy car.

If you stomp it and burn the tires, you're not hurting parts.
500 whp is still safe on the rear suspension with street tires.

I am going to eventually do a solid axle swap.

Oh....you have an l-99. Excuse my ignorance. There are things that can and should be done to make the auto live. My best guess would be more line pressure, and a better shift calibration would work wonders.

Suspension wise, if you had wheelhop, you could stiffen it up a bit with some control arms or better bushings.

You dont want the wheels to hop.

Other than that you'd probably be cool.

That A6 won't live long, better upgrade to a 4L80.

Oh, did not see that you have a L99. the auto trans will need some tweaking. The rest of the drivetrain will be OK. Depends on how you drive. Axles and suspension parts may be needed. I am going to see how it holds up for awhile.

Ya, that would be a HUGE step backwards.

The big bore LSX will get you much more in a much smaller package that will pretty much drop right into your camaro.

Nothing wrong with the big block but for this application, it would be a very bad decision to my way of thinking, unless you JUST have more money they you know what to do with and you JUST want to have a camaro with an old big block in it.

Get an old Gen 1 and put in that big block, would be easier and would be the correct application.

Yeah I have the auto. Wasn't sure if it would hold up. I do drive like a grandpa all the time, but every now and then I get on it and drive it like I stole it.

I may need to upgrade a few things seeing as of right now I can break the tires loose at 50mph already.....

I'm not a fan of these new autos at all...weak and overly complicated.
Heavy as hell to remove and reinstall!

I have a 727 torqueflite built by john cope with a gearvendors splitter behind it in my POS Dakota and it LOLs at my retarded antics all day. Can't break it.
I like stuff I can't break! It inspires me.

One of the things you can do to make your trans live is to not downshift it. Autos dont like that. More line pressure, and quicker applies with less shift overlap will make them live a lot longer.

Alright, I do use manual mode every now and then to hear the exhaust through every gear. I can live with not doing that.

It already downshifts a bit with the tune on it, of course, id get a new tune for the 454.
