1SS or 2SS

I am looking at getting a 2015 1LE. But I am having trouble in deciding between the 1SS or 2SS. Has anyone gotten the 1SS and wished they got the 2SS or has gotten the 2SS and wished they got the 1SS. The main thing I like about the 2SS is the gauge package.

I never had a car with a HUD and that is so nice. I also love leather, back up camera, etc. Go to he Chevy web sight, build you a car, and select compare trims. Easy to do! I only wanted a 2SS!

The gauges are nice to have, but a pain to see. I definitely wanted all the 2SS options on my 1LE, but I would not get the 2SS just for the gauge package.

I personally think that the gauge pack is a waste of money. Oil pressure/temperature can be shown on the LCD display between the speedo and the tachometer - right in front of you. The gauge pack puts it in the area where you will not have time to look until you stop.

I do like the head up display though.

The HUD is the only thing I wish I could have gotten on my 1SS. I feel that the cloth seats fit better than the leather seats, and I'm not much for bells and whistles. Parking sensors and backup camera? No thanks, my neck works.

It all depends on what you want and can afford, I have bought many cars in the past and wished I would have gotten more options. I was fortunate to find a 2SS that had all the options except sunroof. The heated Recaros are very nice this time of year ;-) and you need 2SS for heated seats.

Isn't the gauge package available for sale separately?

I think we have all thought about this question......a lot !!
I went with the 1SS and Recaros and then added the BA Sound and Back up Camera.
That left me with enough money to pay for the RS Package and most importantly, the NPP Exhaust with money left over.
I'm happy with it, depends on what you want to spend, I would have done the 2SS and Recaros but figured I was pushing my luck with my better half so I guess I'm either a wimp or very smart

I wouldn't change the my 1SS for a 2SS. The 2SS just didn't have an appeal to me. I don't need the leather, heated seats since I don't drive it in the winter. The gauges are worthless, personally, more a novelty that usable. I wouldn't mind the HUD and the color DIC. That's the only thing I would've even wanted and not at the price they command.

I have the 2ss rs and love all the bells and whistles in it. I use mine as a daily driver in the summer though and average over 1000km a week on it, long drive to work. I figured that if I'm going to spend that much time in a car on a daily basis I'm going to get exactly what I want. I also plan on keeping it for a long time as well too. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's your money and you're the one who has to be happy with it so make sure you get what you want, even if it seems a little frivolous or pointless to others

I HAD to have the Recaro's so some sacrifices had to be made, though the HUD would have been nice, the money I saved getting every option that you see in my sig below, was worth not getting all the leather, gauges, heated seats. Like someone else pointed out, heated seats are not really needed if you're not driving the car in the cold months. Even on cold day's, the seats don't feel THAT cold.

If I want to add the HUD later, it's available through a vendor that's been on this forum for a long time - DIY5thgen.

Another argument can be made is that the 1SS is slightly lighter than a 2SS (not exactly sure if that's accurate )

Congrats on your decision on getting a 1LE, either way, you can't go wrong. Keep us posted.

HUD was the biggest draw for me in getting the 2SS. If I had it to do all over again I would get a 1SS with Recaros and NPP and nothing else. It would be nice to be able to afford performance mods right now.
