TSP 229/236 Cam

After deciding not to supercharge I am considering this cam kit. I was wondering who out there has this cam and how do you like it? Install will be handled by Jason with RPM Motorsports in a few weeks.

How do you like the performance of the cam, streetability, how were your hp numbers before and after install? Have you had a chance to run the car down the track yet? Any negative opinions of the cam?

My combination for the above will be 1 7/8" Dynatechs with hi-flos cats, New Era Intake, Ported throttle body, RPM HP-tuner tune. GMPP axle-back. Underdrive pulley?

If you have videos can you link or post them?

I tuned one about a year and a half ago, no drivability issues, made 448 rwhp, brand new car with 12 miles on it.

Thanks Mike,

Looking for some input from Ed Curtis as well on this project. Should decide on something in the next few days.

But where does the extra power come in? If its high rpm it won't matter to me...I'm looking for more power down low with good drive ability.

Hmmm

'Could just be the dyno. I've been to 2 different Mustang dynos and one showed a peak 35 RWHP difference.

I decided to go a differant route with a bit smaller FTI Camshaft that should be better geared to daily driving.

A very good article in regards to off the shelf camshafts and custom pieces. This may help you learn a bit about FTI and their service.

I've driven the 225/230, 229/236 & 231/236 all in the same car. I felt all three cams drive really good with a good tune. We've tested a lot of camshafts side by side in cars & on the engine dyno.
