The Z/28 would be cool, but I don't NEED to have it. Although an LS7 in a Camaro would be cool...

ZL1 = GT500 slayer
Z28 = a class by it self... purpose built car, light and fast just like the original. No AC, no automatic? The original didn't have them... |

The Z should be a LT looking Maro with the LSA, a badge on the left side of the grill on the front of the front fenders adn where the Chevy sybol goes in the back. It shouldn't have A/C, Auto, or a CD player (THIS MEANS NO SPEAKERS AT ALL!!!!!). The Z is hell on wheels. Sport Tuned suspension, stick and fast. NO POWER ANYTHING. ITS FOR ENTHUSIAST AND ENTHUSIAST ONLY.
All that luxury crap should be optional on the Z NEVER STANDARD. Hell it shouldn't even be optional but what the hell.

Nowdays the AC systems last forever so I see no reason to delete it. With the cabin filters the evaps don't get clogged. The compressors don't all leak like gen 1 to 94's. If your gonna pay that much need to keep comfy at least.
It really does not tap much if any HP. |

The SS should be enough horsepower for most, so the Z should be only for the super-hardcore enthusiasts.

Hey, Outfitted like this it shoudnt cost anymore than 42k. Then you can add any options you want, by all means go ahead. Just in 10 years when I get my hands on one of these Z thats how I want mine. Like it should be. Like it was in 69. Now thats the meaning of retro.

I'm probably going to be crucified for saying this, but oh well.
GM shouldn't make the Z/28, at least not anytime soon. They're just too far in the red right now to produce a car that only enthusiasts will buy. Let's wait until GM makes a killing with the Volt, then they can afford to go back and do this. Besides, I want my SS to be the fastest model on the road for a while. |

Ok so you guys want hardcore, but what can we lose while keeping the Z/28 a viable competitor for the 500? Lose a/c and you lose important customers.

NOT LOSE IT. Make it an option Like how they have delete options that are free. Give an option to take out the AC. Hell you dont need ac. Just drive fast and the wind will do its job.

That's at least a little subjective isn't it? If the title had been "what is the definition of a Z28?" My answer would have been much different. Cmon Mindz, If those of us in the Z28 camp haven't proven that we would welcome back the tradition of the original Z28... I think it's pretty clear we'd all be quite content with a touring Z28 like the Gen 1.
