What a day at the Fest!!!! Just missed #1 qualifier N/A SBE.

All I can say is that is a ton of fun and there are great people here to hang out with. What a community to be apart of. I do think we need to plan this for the Fall though, it is crazy hot. There are a ton of really awesome cars here and the shops showed out for sure.

I am super impressed with how the car is doing. I loaded it up with all my crap, drove it 600 miles yesterday and averaged 30.8 mph with not a flat piece of road between my place and here. Swapped tires today and made some good passes.

The DA today was between 3,200-3,600 all day. I made three decent tuning passes before qualifying but didn't pay a lick of attention to anyone else except for one other car. By the time we got to do the qualifying passes I figured I would use them to try to correct a trans issue I am still working on. I thought with all the bad ass GEN 5 race cars in my class were a half a second faster at least. I made my last pass and went to tuning. I heard the last car go down and then the announcer say my name and that I just lost the number one qualifier position. I thought I misheard him but I guess the car was doing better than I thought. I think I had the fastest N/A SBE pass of the day but I can't confirm that at all right now. At least my qualifying passes were my worst passes of the day. My only hope is that I can get the trans dialed in for tomorrow. My only goal is to crack 10.99 at full weight, 3,820lbs according to the scales at the track, in over 3K DA. I am no drag racer so I have no expectations of going rounds.

Here are my passes, full weight and interior, half a tank of E74.

DA 3,200+
1.49
11.09
122.30

DA 3,400
1.47
11.05
122.02

DA 3,600
1.49
11.07
121.83

Qualifying, track was shot at about 10ft out. It would just spin, short shift and then lock the converter. It would spin on the shifts as well.

DA 3,600+
1.54
11.13
121.97

DA 3,600+
1.56
11.13
121.41

Hopefully I got the trans deal worked out and I can get back down into the 1.45 60ft's and some 10.90's tomorrow.

We will see. I am dehydrated, sunburned, I jacked up my shoulder and I have a huge smile on my face.

The last sentance made me laugh. Man, I so wish I could come to this meet, too bad its 2000k miles away.

I really hope you can crack 10s tomorrow. What a great showing so far. Hope you brought some business cards with you.

I am really glad I made it. It was off for me coming more times than I care to count. I am glad I sucked it up and got my pasty white butt here for the awesome tan I got today. LOL.

I came here to accomplish two goals. One is taken care of. 10.99 is going down tomorrow. I will be good then.

There are some legit drag racers here so I am sure I am going down tomorrow in heads up racing. Me and this pro tree don't seem to get along. Now I know why dudes run trans brakes and all the other crap drag racers rely on to be competitive.

I am considering going tomorrow just to watch. I robbed a PRAY ported intake off of a trade in at the dealership I work at and haven't even started to dial it in yet so I don't think I would be very competitive drag racing haha. If I do get a chance to go down there I'll definitely try to find you and at least introduce myself. Those are absolutely CRAZY times considering the DA and prep! Early tomorrow morning you will see your 10.xx time I'm sure. You will have the #1 spot on the fast list this fall if you can find some halfway decent air to race in!

Come on out if you can make it man. I will be there. I am the sun burned dude in a red Camaro.

I am really, really temped to yank out all the seats and see if I can borrow a 1SS drivers seat. I am no wishing I brought a 26" drag pack instead of my 28" pack as well. There was a 1ss here today with the seats pulled on a 26" pack that weighed 3,440 or 3,404. I didn't really catch it. My car was about 3,610. Could you imagine if I dropped 160-200lbs off the car and put it on a 26" pack. It would have gone 10.70's today easy.

I am not worried about the lists any more. People can believe what ever they want about what is the fastest combo. I don't fit in the boltons and there is no way I am running down Hamilton without a cam and a lot of work. Procharger is going on anyway and I will just be a slow guy on that list so I am good. I think I proved my point. It is an easy combo that anyone can copy. No tricks, no fuss. That was the real point of all of this.

I have 26" racemasters on 17" welds if you think you can hook on them! And a 1ss drivers seat and the tools to change it IF I can make it over there! It's about an hour drive for me but i can't access my tools or tires tomorrow until around 8:00 cst. We just might be able to make it happen!

I appreciate the offer bro. I am not sure if I can get away with just running the rears. I thought it screws up all the traction control stuff if you don't run 26''s up front as well.

I would be tempted to try a glory run after I am eliminated. I am going to take my shot at winning the way I always have. Full tilt DD street car with just a tire swap. When that effort fails maybe we can bust out the tools. I will have time for testing when I get home though so it isn't a big deal. Don't bust your butt or extend your trip to grab anything.

Nice

Was this with the ported msd?

You picked up a little if so. considering conditions etc compared to your previous times. IIRC

Well i won't leave until around 9:00 anyway if I do get to go. And I planned on washing the car at the dealership I work at anyway. If the tires fit, I'll bring them. Are they allowing just test and tune for guys that aren't signed up for a class to race in?

I never seen any weird traction control problems while tc was turned off. Sometimes during a sharp turn and under acceleration I will see the stabilitrac light flash and it cuts power though.
