Vibration/Rattle at ~1500 RPM

Hey guys. I brought in my Camaro to the dealership this morning. I wanted to get your input on whether or not you have experienced something similar with your Camaro. Mine is an automatic 2SS.

The issue is a vibration/rattle and sound when I'm going around 30MPH at ~1500 RPM. If I'm holding the shifter I can definitely feel it vibrate a bit. Does this happen to anyone else?

Yea I had the same problem with my camaro but mine was at like 60 mph in the shifter. It got annoying so when I took it to my dealer they went ahead and replaced the entire shifter assemble. I was without my Camaro for a entire week while they did this.

you are aware that the L99 goes from 8 to 4cyl when crusing around at steady low rpm, right? and when you give it gas, switches back to 8cyl and you feel a bit of shudder. NORMAL.

The only 'rattle' I get is the plastic cover on the auto shifter base (the black multi part piece that allows the shifter to move)

carefully pry it off and apply dielytic grease all around on the underside contact points and pop it back on.

Update: The mechanic drove it around and said he definitely felt the vibration in that RPM range. He examined the exhaust and said that it may be the baffles. It looks like it may be similar to the issue described on this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1942738
They ordered a new exhaust for me and it should be here any day. I'll update the status of the rattle once the new exhaust is installed.

@ ffrcobra_65, I am aware of the 4Cyl to 8Cyl shift but this is more of a sustained "shudder" rather than a momentary one. If I'm driving on the street for example I can be at around 30MPH and 1500rpm and the vibration is continuous.

glad the dealer is making headway on this. Let's hope it is just the muffler. If the weep hole is clogged up, condensation can't escape and the inside will rot and baffles will get loose and rattle. Strange though that you can feel it on the shifter. You should be able to feel it at that rpm sitting at idle in neutral.
