I am really wanting to put these on my SS but am worried they could damage my motor? Will the dramatic change in back pressure hurt anything or since its past the cats is it not going to be that bad??? Thanks for your help

well it really depends... Cutouts are more for racing cause it adds that little jump in HP and is VERY LOUD!!! lol on your camaro if would not hurt a thing (as long as you dont run it everyday for like a 10mile trip) like i said there more for show and racing and to scare the guy tailgating ya. but they are worth it i would put them on but why past the cats? if your puttin cutouts on its gotta be as close to the heads as ur gonna get lol. was gonna put a couple on my old pickup but the motor is pretty worn and is going to be my DD for the next couple of years so... i spent a week in a welding shop makin my own to decide not to put them on

I've had them on my SS for over a year, no issues. It was VERY difficult to find someone to do the install in my area. I originally was trying to find someone that had done an install b4 but no luck.
My recommendation is to get the digital read out controller. I LOVE the cutouts, it's great having the option of opening them or leaving them closed. By far the best mod I've done. The controller was routed from the bottom up into my center console. It stays in the center console, I preferred having it hidden -vs- having it left out in the open. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Russ |

As I understand it, NoWeeds is a superior product....but then again....it cost nearly 3 times as much. The NoWeeds is a diverter (diverting ALL the exhaust gases directly out an open path). The QTP is not a diverter, it simply opens up an additional open path, but does not close off the path going to the rest of the exhaust system. If money was no object, I'd go with NoWeeds. But since we live in the real world, I will be getting the QTP's installed soon.

I just put a set of DMH cutout on this past weekend.
Super easy install IF you have access to a devise to cut the exhaust and a welder. Took me about 4 hours working slowly. I put the switch in the power port next to the traction control button. very stealth. Its too loud to drive open but it is fun to pop them open at idle! |

thanks
what a great idea, the power is there and it has a door plus I never use that anyway. Now to find the perfect switch to fit. What switch did you use?

OK, here it is, 2010 SS with 1-7/8" Stainless works LT headers and Flowmaster American Thunder cat back with DMH electric cutouts. Don't mind the crappy quality. It was taken with my iphone stuck in the plate of another car. Not bad considering!
