You want NO oil at all in the intake aircharge...it is not intentional that all new cars and light trucks have this issue.

I am a soon to be ZL1 owner. I looked at the websites for both Elite and RX catch cans and I don't see anything directing towards a ZL1. I see Camaro and ls3 and l99 but nothing for lsa or zl1. Could use some help since considering a catch can as long as it doesn't void the warranty.

Leviser, you'll need a two-port can if you go with RX. It has one input port and two output, so it actually has three fittings on the top of the can.

The ZL1 version is out for the RX can and has its own bracket. If your going to road track it the dual valve is an option.

Just give us a ring to order.

Thanks, JonnyBfromPeoria and SC2150. I don't plan to track the car but I am planning on keeping for a long time. Seeing all the posts, I am leaning towards getting one. My vehicle has a TPW of 3/18 so I have some time.
Thanks again for the replys once I am ready I'll make a phone call.

Keep this bumped up for those not understanding the catchcan and the differences of the ones available.

ZL1 after ~2500 miles

Does this seem about normal after 2500 miles on a ZL1? I've got about 4000 miles on it so far.

Sorry for the lighting...The color and smell is exactly like oil (seems like not much else is in there: water, contaminants etc.).

Yes that looks normal. Every engine will have a different amount of ingestion depending on how the engine was broken in (the harder it was run within reason, the better the rings seat, the less issue. The easier it was run the first 500 miles, the greater chance it will have oil issues forever).

What you want to do is test your cans function as far as oil pull through to see that your catching all. At any autoparts store pick up a clear glass inline fuel filter and install it between the cans outlet and the intake manifold.....watch to see if it shows oil getting past the can. If none is your doing the best you can, if there is still oil getting past then get a can that traps all the oil.
