2 things... Steering wheels and Rims

Problem number 1:

I have polished wheels on my current truck and after about, oh, 8 months they were pitted and stained and blemished from the INSANE amount of brake dust the Ram SRT-10 creates. I was wondering what steps i can take to keep this from happening to my camaro's wheels. I used to put a coat of carnuba wax on the rim once every other month, but that didnt seem to work with these. Can you recommend a good polish, cleaner and/or protectant?

Problem Number 2:

The steelering wheel in my truck wasnt leather, but it wore out in like 6 months, looks like skin thats peeling after a bad sunburn with all the spaces that are missing... can anyone recommend a steering wheel wrap that doesn't look like its from autozone or pep boys and will keep the original intact for a better resale some years down the line???

Thanks kids!

look at the Speedy metal polish. ive used this at work on 10yr old alcoa wheels on fire trucks that have never been polished. it brings them out to looking brand new! and switch to ceramic brake pads as the stock metallic pads caused my chrome wheels to pit on my duramax. cant help with the steering wheel cover though.

May just be the crap Chrysler is putting out. My Brakes in my Sky Redline barely shed any noticeable dust and the Steering wheel still looks new after 2 and 1/2 years and 13,000+ Miles.
