here we go again.

Yesterday and today between 1 and 3 PM VMs were left for me by someone "on behalf of Michelle", whom identified themself as a mgr also. When I couldn't be contacted the message leaver stated she would schedule a call back next week.

Like I told the District specialist last Friday. This is why I wanted a call back that Friday night. I'm not available Monday-Wednesday do to my work schedule unless someone can call me after 5, which I know they cannot. Currently Thursday and Friday are the only days I'm available during the day. A call back scheduled for next week, which they will probably do on Mon/Tues also will only get more answering machines. I'm starting to think the goal is to purposely call when I'm not available so then the ticket can be closed as i was non-responsive. I work a help desk also and we have a 3 strike rule when I can close tickets no questions asked.

hell they could email me, I usually can check that a coupel times during the day.

Ultimately my issue and question to the CAC I've dealt with (not jeff he's been helping here) is this;

I opened this case with CAC because the Dealer has failed to resolve or even try to work on my car's issues and I needed assistance. I provided a detailed description of the problems, the PI form the dealer has given me and 2 videos showing the one noise doesn't match the PI form problem description. When I spoke to the District Specialist, he said this case was closed and quoted the dealership 'findings'. When asked if he viewed the info provided I was told that he hasn't' and wouldn't. And that 'policy' said he had to follow what the dealer said the issue and proper action is. Why is this? I don't understand how policy for the CAC is to only listen to the dealers side of this and the default answer is to take their side.

Wow I'm really sorry. I keep coming to check to see if this was resolved and it looks like your dealer is either lazy or employs twats. Every day I keep hoping to find resolution here. Hopefully you get CAC to resolve this or at least another local dealer. What good is a warranty when it isnt backed by the support that is needed?

Thanks I'm really frustrated with GM at this point. I mean between my 'local' dealer and the CAC I feel like I'm not getting anywhere. I'm hoping Jeff has good internal contacts and can help. It seems like the clowns on my case have no interest in doing anything. I'll keep this updated though

I have a 60 mile drive one way for work and i take the Camaro at least once a week weather permitting. I've noticed as I drive if there is something to reflect the sound I hear a squeal/squeak on the drivers side (could be both but I can't hear pass side). its constant and if i touch the brakes it turns to to a high pitch brake squeal that goes away with pedal pressure.

I also have a rattle that sounds like a chain rattling when I hit certain bumps. Mainly like the transistion from a brindge to the road when the road is lower. Seems if the suspension extends then compresses i hear it. Not if the suspension is compressed first. If that makes sense.

I'm thinking the 2 are related. I wish I had my friends laser temp guage so I could tell id a rotor is hotter than the others. I'm guessing it have to be if the broake is rubbing enough to make a noise. Anyone have an idea what it could be or the best way to get the dealer to listen and not try to write it off with the 'can't duplicate' answer?
If it's the front brakes, there is a GM buttitin to change the front pads and remove the weights in the calipers. Find the trend on recalls.

Right but that isn't what the service mgr told me they were going to do. He said he was going to turn the rotors. Brake pads were never mentioned until i told them to get their hands off the car and then they put it on the service form. I even asked them if while they had the car apart for the rotors would they relube the pads as sugested in this thread and they didn't say they were replacing them.

find another dealer, it sounds like you are dealing with D--Ks. a squeal is a squeal.

Hey man sorry to hear about your dealer issues, I know I'd probably stroke out over it as well. I also have the brake noise from the front driverside, and as in your case they can't reproduce the noise. I gave them the bulletin posted above about changing the weights in the pads and was told I already have the new parts.

I know mine is also when its warmed up, normally starts with the 5 degree steering wheel turns on the freeway, then it starts coming on all the time, if I tap the brake the noise stops but as soon as let off it comes back.

Honestly the noise sounds to me like the same sound a rotor makes as its being turned just that high pithced metallic noise. I really wish dealers stopped dreaming about their bottom dollar and actually did their jobs. It's pretty embarssing driving a new car that sounds so terrible on the road.

I tried to get video but all you hear is wind in the background so there goes that idea.

metalmet that is the exact sound i have as well. And i lold about getting video cause I tried and failed at it as well. I've had ppl slow next to me and look over like they can hear it also. Like you said embarrassing.

I've got the older pads with the wheel weights on the caliper. Just know I would have let them do the brakes if they told me it was the pads as well they only said they would turn the rotors and i knew that would be killing the life of the rotor for no reason and probably not fix it. And they were about to do the brake work but when they said my rattle noise was normal I wanted them to stop touching my car. I was hoping CAC would assist with getting them to help but the rep I hasn't been very helpful. Jeff on here has been trying to push it from his side.

So it seems the rep for my case is playing games. He's not calling only my house and not leaving messages. So when I come home I see the # on the caller id. My cell is never being hit. I sent them an email last week asking that I get an email with the status of the case and that my rep can contact me easier via email
