What length is everyone's trailer? I'm split between 18' and 20'. It will be open not enclosed.
And is anyone towing with a 7K GVWR? For some reason I'm only finding vendors that offer drop axles in 3,500lb even though I know better ones are out there. My preference would be a 10k-12k range but am concerned with approach angle as well. May have to just pay for the race ramps but I'm short on space and move too much due to being military so trying to find the "does it all with no extra crap required" trailer that can fit my budget. TX prices for trailers is way too high. |

We went with a 28'X8.5' and you need the min 5,200LB car is almost 4K most trailers will come in at 2,000+ add a set of rimes and your looking at 200 more.

There's no way I'm going that long. Tools and tires will be in the truck which can handle the weight. Going for a car only hauler hence why I'm looking at 18 vs 20. Only additions will be a spare and winch.

16.6 ft. 7K Tilt could work out great for you. It's barely long enough for you, but the tilt trailers are usually made with 5" boxed frames (which are also used for 10K trailers), so they are inherently stronger than regular &K trailers as well, which is a must for our heavy cars : )

As we had discussed a while back, pricing here is nuts. Tilt beds start at $5500 for a bare bones model. Not worth it to me so it's going to be a flat bed with removable fenders. Waiting to hear back from some places on drop axle and width mods. I'd rather it be over built for weight for possible future use.

If a steel trailer you'll need the 5K axles unless you go all aluminum, then the 3Kish axles will be fine. If you live in TX check out 102 Ironworks Challenger line. I used to have one before I went enclosed. |
