My wife is looking forward to Fiats coming over. She really wants a Fiat 500. I imagine it will be the most unreliable car imaginable, but she likes the looks and unique character, which I entirely approve of as a reason to buy a car.

I think you're close. The way I read it is that there is a problem for GM because the PEOPLE want GM to make cars that the Government DOES NOT want them to have. This puts GM in the bad position of having to anger their customers by obeying their masters.

Its really great to design a car that the public wants. But GM somehow falls short of putting it in the hands of he public that has their money in thier hands waiting to buy it, and who have already put their deposits on the car. I gave up waiting and went to the competition so I could have a car for the summer. When GM figures out how to get their desired products into the hands of the customers who want them (maybe a couple of years) I will happily buy back into their product. Its a great car with a great future. Lets hope their marketing division catches up to their design division in the coming years.

Patience is a virtue. I love how you guys whine about things that cannot be changed like the laws of physics. It takes X number of time to make Y number of cars. At least you got your car produced. Cancelling a built order is INSANE (unless it is delivered in some poor condition). It must suck to have no patience. |

The problem that happens when they bring Euro and Down under cars to NA is they try to make them look like their other domestics and totally ruin their looks like they did with the Monaro / GTO for example. |
