If the LT1 replaces the LS3 what about the LSA/LS7/LS9 motors?

Like the tital says. If GM uses the LT1 to replace the LS3 will they build direct injection versions of the LS7, LSA and LS9 motors? What kind of power do you guys think they will be able to accomplish?
My guess? 550HP LT7 and a 700HP LT9?

The LT1 is just the first Gen V V8 to be introduced. More are coming, including a supercharged engine.

The sky's the limit. It would be nice if they made a TT-LT?? for an uber vette ZR-1.

Ahh... I can dream

I'm just hoping for a non AFM manual trans LT1 variant... and not just for the uber expensive supercharged models. The LS9 motor is great, but I'd need a second mortgage for a 6 figure car.

To castrate a small block chevy down to 4 cylinder operation is sacrilege in my book. If everything goes to AFM, I'll just go back to old school hot rods. No AFM SBC will ever enter my garage again.

I would think the LS9/LSA would benefit the greatest from direct injection. You should be able to run more boost with less chance of knock. This is why I was guessing the 700HP range but I wouldn't be surprised if it was even higher.

AFM still seems pretty useless to me. I've removed it from a few cars and the gas mileage doesn't dip much at all. Luckily LS motors are blessed with a great aftermarket that will allow you to remove it during a cam swap without to much hassle. I do however understand why it's there. Car manufacturers need to squeeze every MPG out of their product these days to meet mandated regulations otherwise they face huge fines. If your fleet needs to be at 30 MPG every sports car and truck that fall short of that mark hurt. So every MPG they can gain with AFM helps their numbers...no matter how much we dislike it.

Well the AFM in the LT1 is (supposedly) different than what the L99, etc currently are using so we'll just see how good it is in real life.
