Lsx block needs mods to be reliable at 2k hp and a modded ls3 block can handle similar power, lsx at 2k needs aluminum rods ls3 could get by with steel rods.

an ls3 block could not handle 2k hp. It might be able to but would need much more work than an lsx block. A lsx block is a purpose built race block built to take abuse. A ls3 block is a factory production block that comes in stock high performance vehicles. BIG difference. I'm not saying its weak but I wouldnt trust it past 1k hp. I would however trust the lsx past that mark. Besides I dought he's thinking about making much more power than that. I mean come on. Do you know what kind of chassis and driveline mods you would have to do with 2k worth of power? The cost would make the motor combo look like an accessory and you would have to forget about any streetability.

Plus with 6-bolt heads on an LSX block you'll have the extra clamping power to run high boost without lifting them vs the standard LS aluminum block 4-bolt block/heads.
