Well the sale isn't going through. Buyer wants a car with a 8 rib serpentine belt and mine is only a 6 rib.

The 6 rib is for the engine components, right? How many ribs is the supercharger belt? I'm not super familiar with all of this. I've seen a guy here with a 14 rib supercharger belt, but I have no idea what's good bad or ugly.

Sorry, I see now. His is 8 rib in the front and 14 in the back. Seems to me that having a bigger one in the back would just ensure that the front belt slipped instead, but I dunno.

Mine is a 8 rib in the back on the supercharger and 6 rib in the front. If you wanted to up the boost on the car you may need to get a 8 rib for the front and a cog system for the back. I only run 8lbs of boost so I only had it start slipping one time. After about a year and a half my boost went down to 7lbs at wot. I bought new belts for $30 and it has been great these last 10 months. No slipping and still at 8lbs of boost.

A pretty common question I have been getting is about the ice tank. The ice tank is actually the supercharger water reservoir. The lines from the supercharger run back to a tank in the trunk. It's about 20ft of hose so it helps the water to cool a lot more than the small tank that comes with the kit. I run just water most of the time and it keeps the supercharger cool without using meth. The tank has a drain under the car so you can add ice if you are at the track or doing any hard driving to keep it even colder.

For the deal you gave him on this awesome car, he could have upgraded it any way he wanted it at that price. You pretty much gave him this car.

I'm the one that backed out. First, this is not my first rodeo. I've owned 2 MAG supercharged cars and experienced (eventually) belt slip with a front drive 6 rib system. Upgrading the rear creates more slippage up front. Now granted it probably isn't as bad and will last longer on 8lbs but eventually will slip. Up the boost and it will slip for sure!

Now, my plan was to re-sell the car (if I was keeping it I would have probably still bought it). So let's break it down

1. Cost of car. Won't disclose.
2. Getting car back home $1300
3. Title register tax, $1400
4. 8 rib front drive with install $2000
5. Insurance and storage (assuming it doesn't sell right away) $700
6. Additional repair $800

This is what I estimate, may be lower for someone else.

Still a good deal but not an opportunity to sell at a profit. That's why I passed. I asked a head of time if it was 8, sorry that there was miscommunication.

Wow.... Honestly I'm glad you backed out. I don't want someone that just wants to make a profit off this car. Im looking for someone that will appreciate and love this car as much as I do. Someone that will get years of enjoyment out of this car as I have for the last 4 years.

One thing that doesn't seem to make sense... If you where just planning on reselling the car why upgrade the belt to a 8 ribs? The 6 rib is working great with the boost that is on the car now. $2000 for something that is a $30 part once a year seems crazy unless you were planning on raising the boost.

I would rather get less money and sell the car to someone that really wants a badass car! This car has been my pride and enjoy sense the first day I bought it with 13 miles on it. (And yes I wanted to know who the hell drove my car 13 miles!)

This car was built with no expense spared and it deserves a owner that will love this car as I do.
