First $3k in mods?
Hey guys,
I am doing a little research as I am going to be purchasing a 2011 or 2012 2SS A6 Camaro the weekend after next. This is going to be my daily driver but I would like some extra get up as well. If you guys had $3k to add to a bone stock Camaro, what would you suggest. I honestly do not know how far I plan on going with the car i.e. Forced induction. I am going to start with bolt ons. My thoughts were exhaust, intake, rear gears and tune. Any thoughts? Thanks Keith |

Wow!
Super fast response! I notice you suggest a number of rear end parts, is there an issue with traction? or just building platform for more HP? Keith |

Yes and no. The trailing arms are more to prevent wheel hop than anything else. Wheel hop is what breaks axles. The bushings really help stiffen the rear end up. Kaylee was a whole new camaro after I got those installed.

What's your opinion on rear gears? A) what does it have stock and B) I was thinking of going 4.11's in the rear to pep it up some.

Thats going to be on the high side with the tranny gearing; you'll have a super short first couple of gears. 4.11 is recommended for the manual and 3.73-3.90 range for auto.

4.11 is a bit on the high end. What kind of racing/driving are you looking to do?

I will only be driving it when I go to the store or out and about. Racing? Stupid stuff I should not be doing. What is it stock? 3.73 may be more the good if it is any higher then that.
Over All I just want a FUN car to drive, I do not care about gas or anything like that. I don't usually drive very far. The car I have now I have had for 7 months and have put 3000 miles on it to give you an idea. |

So street driving. When I say racing I mean like auto cross or the drag strip. Im up to about twice a month for going to the track. 4.11s would be murder for just stop and go city driving IMO

Most driving will be in city. Would 3.73 be worth the cost?
