How about:

I cannot vouch for it, but its seems like an ideal solution.

Thanks,

I saw a Vette with the plate attached to the passenger sun visor and the visor was down so it was showing.

Good idea.

Altec Show N Go manual version would mount at an angle given how steep the front bumper is - I know as my Service tech and I tried to figure it out today with one I ordered from Amazon. See other thread and pictures of another member who has it or something similar http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24244. I assume the automatic version would have similar issue.

I've emailed Altec seeking an alternative solution - they don't have one yet.

For now I am leaving the plate in my glove box along with the "We Owe" form for the Front License Plate GM frame...

I'd like to see more photos of the bracket camaropete showed and hopefully the final product is a bit more finished in the welding (unless you can't see it once mounted).

I like the one CamaroPete did up but don't like the fact that so much of the cooling is blocked...and here in Texas, where everyday seems to be 100, I need all the cooling coming in the front as possible!

I have seen a whole bunch of discussion but no one who has actually ordered/installed anything yet. I see Shevyman should have something up by Tuesday, so I will wait and review how it looks and works.

Shevyman, I would love to see pics and videos of it once you get it installed. If it all comes together as I hope, I will order one!!!

Thanks!!!

Julie,

In Texas, it is NOT a moving violation. So, if someone actually does write you a ticket (which is highly unlikely, but still possible) for NO FRONT PLATE, then the worst that will happen is you pay a fine. You don't get tick marks against your DL, and it doesn't go on your record because this isn't a hazardous (otherwise known as a moving) violation.

Just thought you should know.

Also, I haven't had a front plate on any of my vehicles since about 1994, and I've been pulled over zero times for it. This goes for trucks, SUVs, F-bodies, and Corvettes.

i really want a hide away plater holder...motorized to be exact but the camaros bumper isnt flat and it angles up...pointed like i guess u can say, so u see the actual bracket when its "hidden"...ruined it for me...so i ordered the plate holder trm0002 made...it screws into the existing holes under the front fascia...im assume this are the bolt that hold the bottom of the fascia to the bottom of the car...i just take out those bolts silde thebracket arms over the hole and screw in longer bolts...they 2 arms come from out the boottom of the car and u mount the originally dealer plate holder to the arms...its low and centers due to the fact that ur using the orignial plastic holder thing with the arm/bend wuteva u wanna call it...its looks good, check out the thread its somewhere on here but im too tired right now to search for it

and its only 36 buks...quick fix to hold me over till a motorized hideaway that actually hides away and looks good on the camaro is made

I am planning on building a bracket using clamps and nosing the factory mount to just hook into the lower grill if I get too many tickets. but for now no plate on the front of my car.

Here in Utah it is now a secondary offense, I can't stop a vehicle based on the lack of a front plate.

I don't cite for it anyways, which is good considering the fact that when my Camaro arrives, it will not have a front plate.
