Those who dont like the standard 10 spoke wheel

I will take these wheels off your hands as soon as you have them available. Anyone planning to change/ get rid of them?

I don't care for them on a black car, so I'd be interested in the polished 5 spoke wheels. If someone doesn't like them, then I'd imagine they'd order the optional wheels.

.
I'm sure Mike was hoping to find someone who was planning on custom wheels who would sell their standard black ZL1 wheels to him to offset the cost of their custom ones.

Wha?! Augh!!! Never seen them?!?!

If you look real close at pictures 2 & 3, you can catch a glimpse of the "Camaro" cut into the edge of the rim in between the spokes.

I wonder why they imprinted the ZL1 name on the polished rims, and
on the black rims they have the camaro name.

If you order the special option wheels be there the morning of delivery.
With the first SS deliveries those who ordered the 21" wheels found the car was delivered with the standard 20" and the 21" wheels and tyres were delivered separate and fitted by the dealer.

If you are not there to see that you will be unaware and the dealer will have a set of extra wheels and tyres he can sell on ebay.

Not saying that will happen this time but who knows

I don't think the polished ZL1 wheels are sold as accessories...

^You should be able to purchase the zl1 polished wheels with a part number...right? As in from a dealer or from GMPartsDirect??

I was thinking of going that route if I eventually go with the base wheels.

You should be able to buy any part from the parts department. But it'll be much more expensive than ordering from the factory...unless you want to save the stock wheels, too.

Yes that is what I had in mind. It will all depend on the price. If the price of the car is reasonable then I would go with the polished wheels. If the price hits the limit then my thinking will be bare minimum, and pick up the polished set at a later date.

Or....what I really want to do....would be to order with the polished rims and pick up the standard rims thru gmpartsdirect (no take-offs on my new baby) and do a custom paint and/or polish job on them.

Eh dreaming at the moment. Tomorrow will be the clincher for sure.

I like the standard black wheels from a maintenance and performance standpoint. They look easy to "repaint" if they get nicked, scratched, etc. They look good if you want the "Nascar" or "Rally" or "Drifter" or "Pure Muscle" look.

For those who want a more traditional "reserved" look, the polished rims look a little less performance oriented, quite a bit more "classy" however. I think the polished rims will be harder to keep clean. Where the spoke joins EITHER RIM at the outer edge, it appears to have a "hard to reach" nook between the spoke and wheel edge that will collect roaddirt, grime, etc. I'd like to know if anyone has used any products that really DO clean polished rims effectively without brushing. It's always hard to also reach the inner side of the wheels by hand.

I believe they are about the same weight, so their is no downside for either.
