I didnt realize Number 3 was a company car, hence I'm still fairly new here.

From your posts, I don't think you neglected the car at all. It was in YOUR driveway in a nice neighborhood. The thieves obviously followed you home and scoped the place out...

I hope GM doesn't hold this against you.

Well that is a perfect example why a viper alarm system is better than the factory security system with onstar. The factory system only keeps the car locked and even Onstar can't track wheels not attached to the car. For me wheel locks and Viper as soon as it leaves the dealer. It's still cheaper than the insurance deductable.

#3 sorry for that sad site in your driveway.

Number 3 thanks for sharing and just look at the whole thing as a positive. You got to taste something special in life.

Why would anyone in their right mind not park a brand new car in the garage? You might as well put up a please steal me sign. I could not sleep at night knowing my car was parked in the driveway.

I wouldn't think twice about parking it in my driveway. I have even left my cars unlocked in my driveway overnight. I do plan on keeping mine in the garage but if for some reason I can't, I won't lose any sleep.

Some of us live in an urban area where a driveway itself is a luxury...a garage...pay dirt! Granted he had a garage but the fact he felt safe just this one time cost him. We have all done this before. You are busy unloading the car and before you know it you forgot to lock the car. And then to add insult to injury GM takes the car from him. Did I read that right?! That is what really sucks for him! The loss of the wheels was bad enough...but to have your car taken from you is heartbreaking. All because he has the balls to share his unfortunate story? That just sux...big time.

The theives are the bad guys here not number 3. I don't care if you have a 80,000 square foot garage, if you can't leave a vehicle outside then there is something wrong.
The fact that a car has to be built or equiped with an alarm is simply horrible. Anyone that takes something that doesn't belong to them should be shot and tossed aside like the trash that they are.

GM didn't take the car from him because of this, it was due to be turned back into GM around this time.

News report on Channel 4 in Detroit just had a story about a bunch of wheel/tire thefts in the Metro area...One apartment complex had 6 hit, Livonia had 40, etc.

They also mentioned that they caught a person in van with a bunch of stolen wheels...maybe #3's?

Most of the ones the showed or described were at least upp on bricks!

Number3 you didn't do anything wrong, and for anyone one on this forum to say otherwise is wrong. I feel bad that this had to happen to you and taint your experience with Number 3 after an enjoyable 6 months. It seems your experience was part of recent rash of thefts and not specific to the Camaro or your neighborhood. Also, sorry to hear about your wife...times are indeed tough and a lot of great people have been lost :-(

happened even in my lil sister's apartment complex in the Taylor area just a day or two ago. A couple Cadillacs and a couple other decent cars found sitting on cinder blocks.
