I have never run my car on stocks, but you are right, even with the Nitto 20" DR's I spin at the poor excuse for a track I go to most of the time (Coutyline Raceway in Miami-Dade). I do have to slowly add gas and I still spin the Drag Radials often. But that is why I just forked out another $800 for 18" Z06 replicas and the M&H 325's, not everyone is willing to do that. So slow and steady off the line.

20" tires are pretty but not really made for the track.
Look at the low times in the 1/8 and 1/4 postings, almost everyone is going to a smaller rim and good DR's. That will change your 60' more than anything, other than maybe a Torque Converter.

Your LT1 probably had P245/50ZR16 tires with a 4 speed and 1st gear was 3.06 in auto with a Axle Ratio of 3.42 and we are running a 6 speed with 1st gear at 4.03 and an Axle Ratio of 3.42.

Once people start adjusting their car to run on the strip you will have some really low 60's, 660's, and 1320's.

We are all supposed to go again Friday. I doubt I pull anything quicker than a 9 because of track coniditions. :(

Yes. Mine is a 2SS/RS L99 off the showwood floor and the LS1 is a 2000 R/A T/A Convertible with a lid and 3.73 gears.
