I just realised I never updated this page after the 1/2 mile event. I ended up breaking the record for a ZL1 in a 1/2 mile with a best of 173.6. The car started the day on 17" wheels with a M&H Racemaster in a 325/45/17 on the rear & went a best of 171 mph, I switched the rears to 20" wheels with a 305/35/20 MT DR & closed out the day with back to back 173 mph passes. I never started from a roll the whole day, I ended up doing standing starts so it was basically a 1/2 mile drag race. The car would trap alot higher but the airstrip surface is horrible & I was having big traction issues all day on either set of tires, it was a pedal fest trying to get it to hook for the 1st 100 yards. The car hasn't ever had a single hiccup & pulls like a freight train, but like I've said a million times it drives & sounds like a stock car, I love the stealth factor of it.

The GTR had 800 awhp & jumped way out on me, those cars leave hard from a dead stop, I chased him down & passed him right before the finish line, he followed me to my pit to see what the hell I did to my car to do that, it was really funny!

I just looked through this thread again and I may have missed it but did you ever say which turbos you are running on this car? I found 3 place where someone asked but never did see an answer. I'm also curious what throttle body is on here. As you may know I have had some issues and I'm considering a swap.

Looks like a stock TB and they are the BW S261s. If he ever got a tranny that would let then go full out he could make a lot more power but this build is more drivetrain limited.

I just read this entire thread. This is absolutely amazing. And astounding work from adm. Glad the whole family loves it. And the gtr deal is funny shit. Anybody that had a built gtr would wanna know the same thing if he got passed up from a dig lol
Great car.. looking at adm to do some upgrades for me. Can u send a pm on rough pricing? Are u using the stock shortblock? I never seen what internals were?? |

I'm running the Borg Warner S261 turbos, my throttle body is a stock LS2. If one of the other ZL1's (Jess Rayo) out there can come close to what I'm doing with my Limited drivetrain I might be motivated to build the tranny & turn the boost up, the motor & turbos will take 10 more lbs of boost without a hiccup. I'm totally joking Jess don't take me seriously. If there is a company that can build up a 6L90 to handle 1400 rwhp I will ship my tranny to them right now! From what I've heard, the parts that they build these up with aren't the problem, I've been told its not the hard parts that are the issue, its the clutch surfaces. If someoene knows different please contact me with the info, I'd love to turn it up even more.
I'm going back to the 1/4 track this week, the car was trapping 140 to 142 its last 4 passes, we have the tranny tune with the new converter all dialed in. Now its time to get the 2 step setup so I can leave the line on full boost.

No wonder it's so fast, look at the size of that turbo!

Hey Josh, with you being almost a neighbor and all, we going to get to go terrorize the locals at the Mile in Oct... you and Jess and I and a few others...
