Camaro Dash Cracked

Guys that have a 2010s have you seen any cracking on your dash yet?? I was just cleaning then inside of my car when I found a crack about 6-8 inches just right of the speaker on the passenger side. I called the dealer an asked if the extended warranty might cover an no luck doesn't cover cosmetics UGH!!! I bought the car new in 2010 and it's been garaged about 90% of its life an while I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011-12-13-14 it sat in the garage also approximately 24 of 48 months and wasn't driven. My wife drives a 2004 Tahoe and while it has some issues the dash isn't cracked an dare I say my daughters 2005 Mustang which has been outside since we bought it in 08 without a sunshade isn't cracked. An I cringe at the thought of cost an labor to replace the dash. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions other than either deal with it or get it fixed, I see no reason for it to be cracked like this so soon.

Yes, there are plenty of us that was cracked along the airbag cut line. I had mine replaced back in 2013, and I'm betting yours has been cracked longer than you've noticed. Mine was in the garage also, took it out to wash it and noticed it.

Well that's a bit disheartening to know that it can still happen to a car that's been kept mostly in a garage. Been a big problem on my last 2 cars (not kept inside). Knock on wood, my 2010 dash is perfect. Been keeping it inside and using Turtle Wax ICE interior protectant.

Sorry to hear about your dash.

Interestingly my co-worker has a 2012 Silverado and his dash has begun to crack. Odd, of all the cars I've had, I've never had cracks in the dash.

I reckon maybe moisture in the air and/or excess sun has something to do with it. No issues with my dash here in Cali. Still in good condition. I can take close up pics later if you'd like.

Well the only thing that comes to mind is maybe due to using cleaning products on your interior. The chemicals in the product may dry the dash out and in result crack.
