To add to the warranty comment - I believe that the initial cause of the problem has to be on a covered item. So if a cooling line comes loose or plugs and the engine and or tranny burns up you have not coverage. IMO it is unlikely that you will have a covered mechanical failure on a car between 36K and 100K. The 100K warranty is a sales gimmick because it sounds good on the surface and costs GM very little because covered failures are rare.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Ditto on nary an issue. Been great since day one.

Hyundai boast's about the 100K 10 year warranty also, and yet it excludes a ton of shit. Just a sales gimmick.

My 2011 2SS/RS runs like a bat out of hell, no real issues except the occasional slight grind to second and third (seems to be inherent in these cars with the M6). Everyday driver with Flowmaster 40's on the back end that's it. 85 miles a day. Now my wife's convertible 2011 2SS service bay warranty queen is a damn nightmare.

27k today and only issue has been oil cooler leak Fixed under warranty and replaced radiator due to pin hole leak that came out of the blue right at 26k miles in 114 degree heat also fixed under warranty. Both simple fixes 1 day at the shop total. So far so good

I can see the OP's point, even if every repair is covered under warranty, it is still a major PITA to have to take your car in every month and leave it for a few days.

All warranties are sales gimmicks. I know that. If they can weasel out of a warranty claim, the dealership will try to. I experienced this when dealing with Ford. Car manufacturers are out to make money.

if your worried about the drivetrain your golden! cars are great... my only problems have been radio glitch and little break squeel but those minor problems are only seen in the early production #'s (like mine)
