Painted door insert, abl not shining thru

I striped the paint off the inside of the panel and painted my door inserts. The place where the abl light sits in the track has zero paint on it. When I put the door panel back together, I get no light shining thru. Do I need to remove some paint below the abl track where it sits?
The new paint is right up to where the abl light sits.

There is a little lip in there you should not paint anything past that point. Basically the light shines down at an angle so its kind of below where the light rod sits.

There is the light tube and its painted right to the edge but not where it is sitting. I'm assuming I'm gonna have to remove some of the paint below the tube.
