wind screens in general
I am new to the forums here at Camaro5.com. This is my first Camaro!! I have been waiting/drooling over a new Camaro for a long time. I bought a 2013 Hotwheels edition V6 convertible. My question is... Wind screens? are they worth the money? If so which one does it best? I live in the convertible state of Arizona, where October through June is Convertible time! What are you using? How does it work? We need a one stop place for this info!

OEM works good. If you get the after market that are mounted behind the back seat they don't do much good to the people in front.

I ordered a wind restrictor and it came in the mail. I can't get the bolts to loosen so I am going to have a guy at chevy do it. I'll let you know how much of a difference it makes.
Hope that helps. |

Welcome!!!
I have the factory GM wind restrictor and it does make a big difference in the amout of wind blowing around in the cabin. It doesn't eliminate the wind, but it does reduce it considerably. I'm just still trying to figure out if it was really worth $300 :( Here's a pic of it installed on my car.

It doesnt look like much for the money, and it doesnt light up with cool fandangled colors like the acrylic one that goes behind the back seat....but it works remarkably the best....take it from my wife with her long hair....she hated driving hers until we got this (days after purchase) and I have ridden in cars with the latter (rear seat acrylic)...not so good and causes the touneau cover to raise. OEM GM is by far the best I have seen or used. --->+1 it makes it a two seater...so no freeloaders in the back MUHWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well lots of excellent information! Thanks all! I will get the GM wind screen. I had been looking at the fancy one from King Pin with the LEDs but my engineering side was saying it does not work, and you all have verified that.

Does the wind screen effect your rear view? I do like the sports bar with the wind screen idea.

No more so than having tinted windows. We have the GM windscrenn and it works great!

Good decision to go with the GM windscreen. I have both but once i purchased the GM windscreen the windrestrictor from PENN hasn't seen the light of day. The windrestrictor does look cool though. Enjoy!
